The Swamp:

Al Gore slipped out the side door of the West Wing.

In his private Oval Office meeting with President Bush, the former vice president insisted that they had spoken about global warming "the whole time.'' It wasn't clear if the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who shared the honor for his work on climtate change, was serious.

"Of course,'' they had spoken about global warming, Gore said, strolling down a rain-slick Pennsylvania Avenue with wife Tipper Gore after a private session with the president. For Gore, who had gone into the White House for a reception for the American winners of the 2007 Nobel Prizes, this was his first return to the Oval Office since leaving office.

But Gore, calling the meeting with Bush "very cordial'' and "substantive,'' declined to elaborate on their meeting. "I'm not going to do an interview here,'' Gore said in his walk down the streets outside the White House. "I don't want to comment more.''

You know, it was not just the Court which had been bought and paid for by Pappy that cost Al Gore the election.

We allowed the republicans to smear him all along, then allowed bro Jeb to pit the might of State government against the recount. The press celebrated all those republican staffers down there pounding on that glass window threatening to break it if the count proceeded, but no one did anything about it.

And we rewarded their criminality by allowing him to serve a second term. I don't think he was duly elected in either event. Voting machines locked up in Ohio while voters in democratic presincts waited 8 hours to vote is just another of the Bush/Rove dirty tricks. Blackwell was in on it up to his eyebrows.

Unfettered, George demonstes the terrible parenting skill of his parents, and the worst president ever.

Al Gore's grace under fire, even unfair and dishonest fire, has elevated him beyond the Presidency, to a legacy and a legend as American hero that Bush can only envy from afar.

Al Gore, call your office.

Michael Totten reports from Fallujah:
****

"Brand new solar-powered street lights line the main roads. Now that insurgents no longer sabotage the electrical grid, Fallujah gets around twelve hours of electricity a day on average. (It used to be a lot less.) Getting street lights permanently off the electrical grid not only frees up power for televisions and air conditioners, it prevents the city from going dark even when the power is out."
****

Since Gore is the leader of the Man Made Global Warming religion I wounder if he asked Bush to pray to Gaia with him?

Or maybe they discussed the latest satellite data that demonstrates temperatures have been FALLING since 1998 and are now at 1983 levels?

As an American, I am not quite happy with the way the country is going. But, I also realize that the many problems we face are due to the American people.

Regardless of how he won, Bush would not have been elected in 2000 were it not for many, many Americans. And, in 2004, the same is also true.

Americans like blaming politicians. We have every right to. But we don't like blaming ourselves. For anything.

Conspiracy theories aside, Gore did not win in 2000 because he was "mechanical" and came across as "knowing too much." He was a "micromanager." Juxtopose that with today's issues and those minor character flaws seem insignificant (or even a strength ...).

But, alas, this country is filled with one-issue voters who think only in black and white and pretend to exist in a linear world. And, yes, this is directed to the "Left" as well.

I mean really. If Americans wanted change -- real honest to goodness change, they'd vote in Kucinich or Paul but both are "wacky" and fringe candidates. But we don't want change. We want things to be restored back to before 2000 which would, again, put is back in a place of apathy.

Sarkosy is helping China reduce their use of coal
by selling them two "third generation" nuclear power plants that need only five percent enriched uranium fuel and alternately can burn 100 percent MOX-plutonium fuel. France will supply China with MOX from It's breeder reactor program.

While Bush and Gore flap their gums Sarkosy really does something about Global warming.

Look at that sneering smirk on Bush's face. The man has no shame, no heart, no conscience.

has anyone ever noticed similarities between Bush's war on the Middle Class and initiating Reagan and Neo Cons dream of running the US economy into a 'train wreck' to force and end to their hated social programs for the non wealthy, and the turn of the 2oth century Russian Communist Parties agenda to force "Collectivization" upon the people.
Basically using policy and tricks to force the country side into an economic downfall, creating famine amongst the peasants until they had no choice but to accept to the will of the communist party. They wanted all the smaller farmers to work collectively and produce food for the country and created forced labor camps of peasants, while making the communist party wealthy beyond there wildest dreams.
Millions died in what has been classified by some as genocide. None of the elite suffered, they only prospered from this. The communist / socialist parties are similar in action to the Neo Con republicans, and the wealthiest who profit the most, then known as the Bolsheviks , are similar to the wealthy Bush supporters here in the US, which might be more accurately renamed, Busheviks .

Strange how history repeats itself. Only the names and places are changed.
