You know, this morning, the two big stories on CNN are Kanye West's mother, who died, apparently, after having some plastic surgery. The other big thing that's going on is whether or not this cop [Drew Peterson] killed his... wife. And meanwhile, you've got Pakistan in the midst of a real crisis, where these people have nuclear weapons that we helped them develop. You've got a guy in charge, who's basically declared himself the military strongman and is being supported by the Bush administration, whose raison d'etre for going into Iraq was to spread democracy in the world.
So you've got these things going on, which seem to me to be very substantive, that could affect all of us, and instead, you see a lot of this back-fence gossip. So I said something to the Nightline guy about waterboarding, and if the Bush administration didn't think it was torture, they ought to do some personal investigation. Someone in the Bush family should actually be waterboarded so they could report on it to George. I said, I didn't think he would do it, but I suggested Jenna be waterboarded and then she could talk about whether or not she thought it was torture. And then the guy from Nightline said, "Well, obviously you've not been watching World News Tonight with Charlie Gibson." But I do -- I watch 'em all!

Why waterboard Jenna? What does she know, how to steal prescription meds from her mom for a buzz? how to do coke in front of her Secret Service man without him catching on?

No, far better to waterboard the real bushco players. Then what tales we might hear!

I'm thinking a theme park for neocons -

The Waterboarder - takes you to the very edge, and for some of you, slightly beyond.

The Tasecups - Spins you around and shoots bowel loosening electric jolts through you repeatedly at unexpected moments.

The Analhorn - Lock and load with this probing experience. It's right next to the "Butt Pirates of Abu Ghraib" experience.

Strip Country Jamboree - Lie face up naked in stagnant pools of water while listening to endless repeatings of the vocal stylings of John Ashcroft performing "Let the Eagle Fly" Fun for the whole family.

The magical world of Gitmoland.

No, no -- have Bush, Cheney and all the Presidential candidates with more than 5% support waterboarded. Bush wouldn't have either the stones or the brain cells to change his opinion or policies, but his successor might take a rather different view of it.

Mr. King shows himself to be a thinking person!
If there were justice in this country, Mr. Murdoch would offer Mr. King the job of replacing the O'Reilly show with a show that would actually be relevant. Since that is not likely to happen, perhaps HuffPo could get in touch with Mr. King and offer to let him blog. He certainly has something to say!

How about this? Why are the Bush daughters enlisted and serving in Iraq? This is such a great cause and the Bush family has such a tradition of military service to the country, especially their father. If his own children were there, instead of ours, maybe he would see things differently.

Waterboard Barbara Bush Sr. no one is more deserving to used, she can tell us all about it and if its something her son Neil can start a business doing to others.

Hi there--For those of you who were looking for that clip I referred to earlier of our esteemed President actually taking responsibility for something not happening quite the way he would have liked ("wrong," in other words), I'm sorry, I got nothing for you. All I can say is that he did take responsibility for...some-thing, and while this "something" wasn't even a big enough deal to remember the details, it was striking that his handlers would have allowed himself to say "The buck stops here," as opposed to "The buck stopped with Clinton" or "The buck stops with whatever peon I put in charge to be my mouthpiece" or even, "The buck stops with an impotent, weak-ass 'democrat' party even though they had absolutely no power for my first 6 years in office."

So I know it's hard to believe without actually seeing the clip (or at least reading it in quotes), but trust me: George W. Bush did indeed take responsibility for...something. I suppose of note is that W. is such a spoiled brat, that him owning anything is striking enough for at least two people to go, "No fucking way!"

...and the hooooooome of the braaaaaaaveeeeee!!!

According to Bush and Cheney waterboarding is NOT torture. How about they volunteer any of their kids or grandkids for a try out, then they can report to their old men if waterboarding is torture or not!

If it isn't torture, please use it on Cheeeeney. It will jump start that dark hole he calls a heart.

Stephen King has crossed the line. Ms Bush has done nothing other than to be the President's daughter, and she does not deserve this rather bitchy statement. I am no fan of Bush at all and consider him the worst president of my lifetime (I'm 53). And I have liked most of King's novels (esepcially the earlier ones where his editors had more balls). But he's an asshole here. And something of a hypocrite. Would it be fair to malign his children because I did not like a particular book or short story?

Hands off the kids and spouses! It's vile.

I wish everyone who gets interviewed would bring up these types of comments. It is so true. Who cares about the ridiculous lives of celebrities? Why aren't we getting real news?

How about if we start OUR OWN militia, like Blackwater, who answers to no law but their own, and declare Bush, Cheney, all their cohorts and their entire families as "Enemy Combatants" and then we could hold them in Guantanamo Bay for the rest of their lives and torture away. What a BUNCH of COOL revelations we'd get from THEIR CONFESSIONS.
