AP:

The memoirs of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the youngest and last surviving brother of the country's most famous political siblings and for decades an eminent liberal statesman and legislator, have been acquired by an imprint of the Hachette Book Group USA.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but a publishing official with knowledge of the negotiations said Monday that the agreement was comparable to the $8 million Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton received for "Living History" and the $9 million former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will reportedly get for his planned memoir. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity, following standard industry practice.

Why do any of you bother to talk to these Right-Wing PAID PROPAGANDIST TROLLS? When you do, you just play into their "Master's" plans. They want to divert your attention away from the topic at hand, if they cannot convert you. It is far better to IGNORE them, and let them sway in the wind, lonely, alone, and unreinforced!

TO JOHN KEMP- you just keep pouring your money into your "books" by ann coulter, rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly, and sean hannity. bet you have a couple by dick morris, too. they will teach you how to buy drugs and blame it on your maid, how a man uses a vibrator, and how to lure a stewardess into a hotel room. glad you and your ilk have such high moral standards.

Congratulations to Senator Kennedy on his publishing contract and the treasured gift his memoir will bring to a grateful nation.

Memoirs are a competitive business where every publishing house is forced to sink or swim; yet clearly an $8 million advance is a bargain for his publisher.

So, will the book prove to be a intoxicating success or a sobering experience? The Hachette Book Group USA will cross that bridge when they come to it.

I will definitely buy it. We all know the Kennedy family isn't perfect and none of our families are. The fact remains that the Kennedy's have given much to this nation and we are better for them having been here. Ted Kennedy has probably served this country better as a Senator than he would have as a President. I was 22 when President Kennedy was killed. What a sad day! The loss of Robert Kennedy was no less sad and I remember Ted Kennedy's words. I think many wondered how he survived.

I really struggle with some of the hateful crap that I read on some of these sites.

I wouldn't give 8 cents for everything he has ever done.

I can only assume that his "memoirs" must be water-proof.

I will buy it.

If only to make the point that botching a response to a fatal accident does not compare to killing over a million Iraqi civilians and 4,000 U.S. troops.

The Kennedys with all their flaws were saints compared to the Bush Pigs.

time for a book? publishers want more intimacy and more accountability perhaps from everyone ..
the world should have been told that by 1993 the zionist dictation had ended and time was to change ..today there are no affairs on any table except that somewhere former indian prime minister travelled to northern europe and attended banquets from austrian chancellor and netherland princes on pakistan's expense ,with the ope that india will fully elude pakistan by the time .she didnt live to see the today , that the lies and cruelty her and her family pay for but her niegbour is in vry quizy state serving her secularism that too had to go but she never estmated that delhi itself will get deluded except that by then they will tie up with pakistani military regime making a south asian federation and a south asian regional cooperation too ..
there is o solution for pakistani political society today except create enemies and victimise the judiciary ..all the pakistani pliticians have signed papers to run elections to show the militarty dictator running a smooth show ,even the spatans got rolled under some dictation to obey 'dictatorship'.

what has Ted ever done ? He is to American politics as Prince Chuck is to British...How about Joan Kennedy's memoirs instead....Laura Bush was involved in a collision that resulted in the death of a young man...Teddy left a drunken party with a young women (maybe an intern if you will) drove off a bridge and left her to drown and shows up the next day with a neck brace after not reporting for about 11 hours.

You have an absolute right to my opinion

Haven't read the comments but they surely pounce on Democrats.

Puh-lease.

Our Ted Kennedy was irresponsible about getting help for a woman he could not save in an accident.

Your Ted Bundy, the darling of the Washington State GOP, murdered more than 30 women.

Check out these lists:

GOP:

--50 + recent GOP “embarrassments.”

http://www.democrats.org/a/2007/09/our_favorite_re.php

--About 70 prominent GOP member pedophile scandals.

http://www.armchairsubversive.org/

--If you want to see a video listing of about 70 GOP pedophiles (the same list?), look here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFwBSDznfbQ

--More than 40 GOP scandals from January 2007 through August 2007.

http://senate2008guru.blogspot.com/2007/08/republican-culture-of-corruption-2007.html

--About 200 or so GOP scandals; these are likely repeats of ones on the other lists. But this one is nice in that it breaks down the scandals into groups: Related to Jack Abramoff, related to Tom Delay, corruption-bribery, Kentucky merit systems scandal, perjury, DUI, rape, pedophilia, child pornography, lewd conduct, drugs (Limbaugh not mentioned), prostitution (sexual, not political), espionage, and other felonies.

http://www.politicalfriendster.com/showConnection.php?id1=3706&id2=4925

--And about 175 or so GOP scandals; these also likely to be at least partial repeats of ones on other lists. The list ialso appears to be repetitive within itself.

http://www.jonesreport.com/articles/101006_republican_crimes.html

DEMS:

Now in all fairness, I did search for lists of Democrat scandals but found only two: One citing about 80 scandals…

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1889889/posts

…and another citing about 90 scandals. But this list is mostly a repeat of the previous list. It also goes all the way back to Aaron Burr in its scope and even includes JFK’s affairs.

http://byteboy.wordpress.com/2005/11/29/democratic-scandals/

So the longest Democratic list goes back 200 years to find 90 scandals; one Republican list counts more than 50 in the first nine months of 2007 alone.

Trolls pointing out Democrat louses should first count their GOP pricks.

"Pockets" is such an ugly word...why don't we just say "endorses to his bar tab"?

Come on Ted! With that kind of money you can tell us who offed your brothers and your nephew! What have you got to lose? We know you know, or at least have an inkling of who or what it was (is).

Come one! America is looking to you Ted Kennedy for the last chance at an answer!

We know you served your country well and honorably, now its time to put it out there and tell it like it is.

Good for him.

I know there are people whose opinions of Ted K are stuck in time, on Martha's Vinyard. (Those same people are oddly silent about W's DUI that he got while driving with his teenage sister in the car. The reason he doesn't have a death on his record like Ted? Luck. But I digress).

I like Teddy Kennedy, he has been a solid Senator with a consistently liberal record, particularly a champion of the elderly and education.

Those of you who are so quick to judge, let me ask a question: how would you like to have this guy's dreams? MaryJo, JFK assassination, RFK assassination, brother and sister killed during WWII, alcololic wife, cancer striken son, airplane crash and resulting broken back. I certainly wouldn't want to have this baggage.

For all you morons who scream about Laura Bush killing her exboyfriend, did she flee the scene?

Did she call her daddy and the cops and make it get swept under the rug?

STFU you ipshit titbags

.
Kennedy's book will be called "If I Did It 2". It will detail how he got away with killing Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969 while driving drunk across a bridge in Chappaquiddick.

The rest of his career, which is even more despicable, probably will not be discussed in much detail.
