Rudy On The Spot: Anderson Asks Did You Bill Tax Payers For Your Hamptons Romps?

Rudy Giuliani dismissed a report Wednesday that he expensed the cost of his security detail to obscure city offices for trips to a Long Island resort as the then-mayor began an extramarital affair with current wife Judith Nathan.

"First of all, it's not true," he said during a GOP debate hours after the story broke. "I had 24-hour security for the eight years that I was mayor. They followed me everyplace I went. It was because there were, you know, threats, threats that I don't generally talk about. Some have become public recently; most of them haven't.

There was NO "debate" on teevee last night.

Instead there was a televised media event, designed to capture audience share. CNN, in its craven desire for ad revenue, simply jettisoned integrity and competence for expediency and titillation. Which of course, explains why the producers didn't "catch" a possible conflict of interest question from Gen. Kerr, and purposely "allowed" Grover Norquist, to spew anti-tax venom.

Last night's circus simply demonstrates what happens when the serious matter of selecting a president is reduced to an exercise of manipulation by a bunch of ratings-hungry media executives.

Since JohnCT brought up the Dallas/Mexican boarder/donkey thing (UGH!) I wanted to get this out:

I'm in South-Central Texas. Rove spoke in Corpus Christi last night. It was an "By-Invitation-Only" event! No advance coverage in local newspapers, or media. Rove's people stated after the "event" they didn't want any negative influences on his speech!

Our local colleges - DelMar in Corpus Christi, and Texas A&M just south of Corpus, issued a statement of their "disgust" today.
This is a Democratic pocket in a totally Republican run state. Even Congressman Ruben Hinojosa (D-15th District) says he was unaware of Rove's scheduled appearance!!

The snake slipped in and out under cover of darkness..what bullshit!!!
