FLASHBACK: Mike Huckabee's Phone Call From God

Last night at the CNN/YouTube debate, a questioner asked the candidates -- "who would call yourselves Christian conservatives" -- to answer what would Jesus do about the death penalty. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee jokingly responded, "Jesus was too smart to ever run for public office. That's what Jesus would do."

It was fitting that Huckabee be asked what Jesus thinks because, in the past, the former Baptist minister has asserted an ability to talk directly to God.

Uh, back to the subject at hand. Huckabee is, like the campaigning Geo. Bush, a very likeable and personable candidate. The fact that Neanderthals had more understanding of science than Mike is something to be ignored.

Trouble is, it's usually a one way conversation!
But if you talk to the god of this world, well, that's a different situation, for that guy is just bubbling over with ideas and lies so outrageous they are believable.

Huckabee is a media darling for the short-term because he fits into the MSM's stereotypical molds they paint "right wingers" with.

Huckabee is out of money, and probably won't make it to the SC and WA primaries.

We at our house would like to vote for someone who would like to be like Jesus. No one can really be as good as Jesus, but we appreciate those who try. We are enthusiastic, therefore, about Huckabee, even though we recognize that anyone who goes into politics (as Huck said Jesus would be too smart to do) can't be perfect, or even near perfect. Politics is dirty business. Too bad we elect our leaders by dirty business. But that's how it is. Huck comes off very well for a man who's had to play in the cess pool called Arkansas politics. The more we see of him the better we like him. It would be great to have a man who, like Lincoln and many other presidents, really believes in Jesus. What a relief, after all of those years of drought.
