Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton was endorsed for president Thursday by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmental activist and scion of one of the nation's most prominent political families.

"Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to bring the war in Iraq to an end and reverse the potentially devastating effects of global warming," Kennedy said in a statement released by Clinton's campaign. "I watched proudly as Hillary won over New Yorkers across the state in her race for the Senate seat my father once held. Since then, she's been re-elected in a landslide victory and proven that she is ready to lead this nation from her first day in office. Hillary will inspire the real change America needs."

The Kennedy Machine is backing Hillary.
All the more reason to support Ron Paul.
The democrats will not give you peace
The Democrats will not let you protest the war

It is critical to get political
Don't taze me Bro;
John Kerry, Kennedy Machine, does nothing as police torture protester with electric shocks.

Was Bobby Jr. using that Katherine Hepburn voice of his when he made the endorsement?

Just trying to set the scene.

The Kennedy's were a bunch of neocon pigs that fought organized community via government policy.

I was disappointed to see anyone endorsing Hillary Clinton, let alone a Kennedy. If Hillary actually wins, there will be an opening for the U.S. Senate seat, once held by Robert F. Kennedy Sr. Do you think that the Clintons might support Bobby Jr.? I think he could easily win in a special election, and be a great improvement for the state of New York. If Hillary is the Democratic candidate for president, we can expect a third party or independent candidate. I will not vote for the Republican candidate, and I won't vote for Hillary, for many of the same reasons. I will look closely at Bloomberg, Nader, Kucinich, Gore, Hegel, Paul, or whomever is chosen.

Anyone who thinks Hillary is just another Bush hasn't been paying attention. Spout her centrist voting record all you want.

I think you will find it tracks with the public's initial support for the war, then growing opposition..( or are the American people a bunch of flip floppers- who supported the war before they opposed it?)

There were legitimate reasons to vote the way she did .. political and pragmatic.

Kennedy's endorsement may not match up with some idealized vision of who he is- but it strikes me as smart- and for the reasons he stated clearly.

Is this supposed to mean something?

It is possible Senator Clinton is the best candidate. However even though any may like the policies that Senator Clinton proposes, they should also consider her record , just as Senator Clinton insists.
.
The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where torturing people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and protect the citizenry.
.
Instead, they made a deal with the criminal gang stalker protection rackets to leave them alone and to consequently abandon the citizenry.
.
Do we want a President who sells out the citizenry for votes?
.
Do we want a President who sends a "crime does pay" message to society?
.
Would you vote for a President who has signed nonagression deals with the KKK or the Nazi party? Gangs that torture with poison and radiation are much like the KKK and Nazi Party.
.
We do not need a sellout President. We need a principled leader President.
.
If you are one of the few who do not know what the above refers to, do a web search for "gang stalking" to see the tip of the dirtberg. Please do it before you decide to reply to my post. Here let me make it easy for you: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22gang+stalking%22.

History! The Kennedy's Bobby sr and his Brother Jack didn't really help Black Folk's! It was Johnson!L.B.J in the history book's when it comes to change in a Black person life!So again we see that Black just isn't good enough for a Kennedy.

This isn't really surprising, when you think of rfkjr's opposition to Cape Wind.

Here a good summary -- by B. Ehrenreich -- of why no democrat who is serious about having a GOOD candidate, not just a good politico, run in 2008:

old school Dems are circling the wagons.

This is the biggest disappointment so far out of any endorsement and really make me doubt any of RFK Jr's previous efforts. That he could honestly look at Clinton and what she has done as a senator and call it progressive gives me pause. That he could look at the previous Clinton's presidency and not see how damaging those 8 years were to the environment is beyond me. I truly thought this man had more integrity. Just goes to show how effective PR truly is.

He's backing the likely winner of the nomination, no doubt in return for presidential support for some of his pet causes should Hillary be elected. It's the smart, safe move--a bit of the hardheaded political pragmatism mastered by his grandpa Joe and his uncle Jack. I can't believe this surprises anyone. The Kennedys have always been idealists in public but supreme pragmatists behind closed doors.
It's election season, folks, and that sometimes means seeing people you admire getting into bed with people you loathe. This is how politics is done. If you have no stomach for it, click on to the "Living" pages.

I'm surprised. Edwards' policies seem much more in line with RFK, Jr.'s

Great endorsement. I read with much interest Kennedy's analysis of the Ohio voting fraud in 2004.
