Bush Administration To Welcome Paul Wolfowitz Back

Newsweek:

Don't ever say the Bush administration doesn't take care of its own. Nearly three years after Paul Wolfowitz resigned as deputy Defense secretary and six months after his stormy departure as president of the World Bank--amid allegations that he improperly awarded a raise to his girlfriend--he's in line to return to public service. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has offered Wolfowitz, a prime architect of the Iraq War, a position as chairman of the International Security Advisory Board, a prestigious State Department panel, according to two department sources who declined to be identified discussing personnel matters. The 18-member panel, which has access to highly classified intelligence, advises Rice on disarmament, nuclear proliferation, WMD issues and other matters. "We think he is well suited and will do an excellent job," said one senior official.

Does Wolfie have some dirty Polaroids that W doesn't want made public? Say something so salacious as to make Barrr's eyes finally pop out of her grisly head?

"...but his selection has raised more than a few eyebrows within State because he'll be providing advice on some of the same issues that critics say the administration got spectacularly wrong when Wolfowitz was pushing the case for the Iraq War at the Pentagon."

Remarkable, just remarkable. I wanted to write something clever or cynical or biting, but I am simply stunned. And here I thought I was beyond any ability to be shocked by anything this administration could do (and that includes torture). The guy--W--obviously (still) has no skill in being self-reflective or in re- cognizing (let alone admitting to) his own mistakes. I know we're dealing with corrupt, mean-spirited, fascistic greed heads, but to have 7 years in office and literally make no truly positive or effective policies, well, it seems to me one would have to be trying to be this bad. I mean, would it be any worse if, for each policy decision, he just randomly threw a dart at a dart board and went with whatever policy it landed on? Goodness, what a crew!

Bushies: Remember what Bush said as looked into Putin's eyes. Saw his soul. Well, what Bush saw was his OWN soul. Just look at Putin's control over his own country's voting outcome. Putin is the guy is after Bush's own heart. Exactly what happened to us in 2000, control the vote ie: Supreme Court Rehnquist: Stop the count - give Bush 'Safe Harbor' 'Safe Haven'. The Bushies are all opportunistic War Criminals. If only they were like US - we the ordinary Patriotic Americans.

You have to understand, in Bu$hCo, they look for the least competent, most ideological and arrogant Republican they can find. Et voila! They found Wolfowacky.

This guy should be in jail, or at the very least deported to Israel. Instead he gets another top job overseeing American National Security.

This is just disgusting!!

Hi,

It is unfortunate that this Administration can only call on those who "railroaded" the US and Congress to invade Iraq as foreign policy advisors.

Perhaps the next President, whoever he or she is, will draw upon a wider circle of advisors.

What do U think????

Sorry. It's not enough for me. I demand that he be presented with some sort of great big golden medal (preferably in front of a joint secession of Congress) BEFORE they give him his new job. Please make sure that George Tenent is in the front row and nodding approvingly (but without a copy of his book under his arm--some things are just outside the realms of good taste, even in the Bush administration).

Wolfowitz is one of the major architects for the illegal, unnecessary "pre-emptive" Iraq war. To give him the world bank job was a joke. To take him even back in the admin shows Bush couldn't care less. He keeps on fucking up everything possible for 7 years and then is worried about his "legacy". Instead of trying to repair a little bit, he puts out his middle finger to America: I am the decider, and I have decided to screw you until my last day in office.

“655,000 Iraqi Deaths Since American Invasion” – John Hopkins School Of Public Health/The 2006 British Lancet

Total U.S. Military Gulf War Deaths (Desert Storm / Operation Iraqi Freedom): 73,846 - The Department of Veterans Affairs, May 2007. 73,000 dead amongst the U.S. soldiers for this scale operation using weapons of mass destruction is not high - we expect the great majority of U.S. soldiers who took part in the invasion of Iraq to die of uranium poisoning, which can take decades to kill. So far more than one million people have been slaughtered in the illegal invasion of Iraqi by the U.S. Birth defects are up 600% in Iraq the same will apply to U.S. Veterans.

The war is costing $720 million a day or $500,000 a minute, according to the group's analysis of the work of Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Harvard public finance lecturer Linda J. Bilmes

The money spent on one day of the Iraq war could buy homes for almost 6,500 American families or health care for 423,529 Americans, or could outfit 1.27 million American homes with renewable electricity, according to the
“American Friends Service Committee”

The U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost taxpayers a total of $2.4 trillion ($8,000 per man, woman child in US) by 2017 when counting the huge interest costs because combat is being financed with borrowed money, Congressional Budget Office

Since 1973, Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 TRILLION. If divided by today's population, that is more than $5,700 per person. This is an estimate by Thomas Stauffer, a consulting economist in Washington

Who do you think Paul Wolfowitz is loyal to, America or Israel?

At least Wolfie will be easy to find when the war crimes trials begin.
He's about an eight in the deck of American war criminals.

How more transparaent is the incompetency of this WH? They hired the man who said the war would pay for itself from the oil profits. The man is a disaster. Never mind. Bush loves to hire those cronies who offer the same opinions he has.
Oh well. Only 413 more days.
