SourceWatch/Congresspedia user Artificial Intelligence has been doing a lot of fantastic work on the wiki lately, particularly on the 2008 presidential election. She recently picked up on a common practice in politics - the easiest way for politicians to show gratitude and allegiance to each other is for the big dogs to kick some campaign contributions down to the folks on the lower rungs. The fundraising juggernaut that is Obama 2008 has apparently had a lot of gratitude to show lately. She says:

A recent analysis conducted by PoliticalMoneyLine of 2008 Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama's November 15, 2007, FEC filing revealed that Obama "has been the most aggressive of presidential candidates in using his leadership PAC to help the campaigns of state and local candidates, and not coincidentally, the funds spent that way have gone to Democrats in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. More than one-third of his leadership PAC money is being used this way."

Campaign reports show that in January 2007, when Obama launched his presidential campaign, Hopefund [Obama's PAC] fundraising all but stopped. Since June 2007 Obama has handed out more than $180,000. Additionally, FEC filings for late 2006 through October 2007 show that several recipients of Obama's Hopefund campaign contributions had also endorsed him within months of receiving funds.

Noah wound up becoming foremost an environmental activist. So here's my best attempt to emulate that:

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul should run on a PRO LIFE platform since mainstream politicians have become satanic harbingers of death.

They should declare the following:

1. abortion should be outlawed. It's absurd for a doctor to bear responsibility for mistakenly killing a fetus on behalf of its mother.

2. the death penalty should be abolished. It's absurd for a worker to bear responsibility for mistakenly killing a human prisoner on behalf of his warden.

3. war should be forbidden. It's absurd for a soldier to bear responsibility for mistakenly killing a civilian on behalf of his President.

4. the environment should be protected. It's absurd for a worker to bear responsibility for the destruction of God's handiwork on behalf of a corporation.

Then Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich should turn jurisdprudence of their government over to God.

This sort of thing is done ALL the time in Israel. Where a minority third party wraps itself into the majority party who is willing to grant the greatest number of concessions. It, in effect, from a policy standpoint, makes the minority party the strongest voice.

In America, party purists aren't smart enough to see the power of compromise. If the left-edgers were willing to join and compromise with the right-edgers, policy would sway in a radically different direction...and only through compromise would party purists begin to enjoy some real power.

In many ways Dr. Paul seems quite out of touch with issues stemming from population growth. He dreams of an America that no longer exists and does not have the space and resources to return to. However, on the main issues of the economy, trade and the dumbass war, he has spoken to the point and at times eloquently. Most of his ideas would never pass through a Republican or Democratic system. Why? The name of the game is: what's in it for me?

Look at it this way:

Each, on his own, has no almost chance to get nominated.

Together, they stand a somewhat better chance to
