Fox News has refused to air an ad produced by the Center for Constitutional Rights that criticizes the Bush administration for "destroying the Constitution" by the use of renditions, torture, and other tactics. The ad, "Rescue the Constitution," which is narrated by actor Danny Glover, can be viewed here.

In an email provided to Media Matters for America by the Center, Fox News account executive Erin Kelly told Owen Henkel, the Center's e-communications manager, that Fox would not run the ad:

I stopped watching Fox long ago when I realized that its news was nothing but Bush neocon propaganda. I wonder who will even buy ads on Fox after November 2008?

Fox refusing to run an ad critical of Bush and the Neocons? That's pretty much what is expected.

The real news would be if Fox actually DID run the ad - now that I would pay money to see - I may even watch Foxnews to see...

Oh my you mean that very fair and balanced news channel with Boob O'really and Ann Coultergiest and all the other loons won't run a pro constitution ad??? That's because they and Bush/Cheney and the other good little GOPERS formed their own government a long time ago and it wasn't the government of the good old U.S.A. It's sort of like in their minds that they are CZAR'S and tell the peons what to think and say. Surprisingly there are a whole bunch of peons who listen to their crap and believe it!!! I think it's about time for the rest of the American Public to tell Murdoch and his lot to get screwed! But then that's just my opinion.

Fox News has no intention of supporting the Constitution. I'm sure they don't even believe in it. It's some old, old of date piece of paper that should be "rewritten" by a neo-con to suit their beliefs. The public just needs to know more about what they're really up to.

I'm sure that FOX NEWS considers the ad "anti-Bush" and not "pro-Constitution." (I haven't seen the ad--just a wild guess.)
The Constitution needs a lobbyist which doesn't make accusations about politicians but just explains the Constitution and allows citizens to draw their own conclusions.

What do you suppose is the long-term effect upon policy makers and elected officials of commercial advertising by military and defense contractors on radio, television and print media every Sunday morning?

I know.

And so do you.

Wake Up America!

They refuse to run this ad because it's PRO DEMOCRACY "NOT" PRO FASCIST, CORPORATIONS.

Freedom Watch, a Right-Wing, Neo-Con, Pro BIG BUSINESS (Military Industrial Complex) organization spend $15 million to Propagandize the Continued Presence in Iraq cause they're making SO MUCH MONEY OFF OF IT.

Those ADS were NATURALLY RUN "REPEATEDLY" by FOX NONSENSE, their primary PROPAGANDA MACHINE.

They could care less about the troops. It's about making money for Halliburton, Blackwater and so many others who are PROFITING off the blood of our soldiers and the taxpayers who are funding this corrupt War.

Oh, jeezus, what a BS headline. The Danny Glover-narrated ad accuses Bush of shredding the Constitution and all Fox asked for was some substantiation.

If anything should have a "shred the Constitution" ad, its the Republicans and Democrats of the past century, giving us the Federal Reserve, Social Security, welfare, affirmative action, IRS, War Powers Act, and a bunch of other programs and legislation that make up over two thirds of the federal budget yet are more un-Constitutional than anything mentioned in this ad.

For those of us with short memories I remind you of the following: "Fox refused to air two Swifties ads that other cable networks, including CNN and MSNBC, had no reservations over."
