Olbermann Reads Irreverent O'Reilly Comic Strip On-Air, Mocks Falafel Scandal

Friday night on "Countdown," Keith Olbermann closed the program with a dramatic reading of a Tom Tomorrow comic strip mocking Bill O'Reilly. To adequately channel the voice of the cartoon, Olbermann read the comic as O'Reilly himself. The comic happened to mention O'Reilly's superior ratings and Olbermann's small penis, as well as a few references to Bill O'Reilly's phone sex/falafel scandal of years past. Watch, and try to keep from laughing out loud if you're at the office.

This is the problem with comedy shows that skewer the news. They become cool and popular, and then the real news people seek to plump their ratings by being funny--not realizing that they are STILL doing the thing they were mocked for doing in the first place.

As Jon Stewart keeps telling these idiots: WE DO NOT NEED FUNNY NEWS. WE NEED ACCURATE AND SERIOUS REPORTING.

Leave the funny to comedians who know what they're doing.

Keith was great on ESPN and he is amazing on the Countdown! Keith gets my support every night. All of you conservative right-wing jokes are the WORSE! PEOPLE! Thank you, Keith! Your show is much funnier and more reality-based than that lying blowhard Limbaugh. With the Daily Show and Colbert Report temporarily MIA, your show is filling in nicely.

O'Reilly is an American phenomenon, one that has coincided with the right-wing take over of the Republican Party. His lack of wit and ignorance of the facts makes him a darling of the uneducated right wing of politics. It is only natural that he would be a laughingstock to the rest of the nation. To think that he would call his nest of lies the no-spin zone is the height of hubris. If the problems facing the country were not so serious, it would be easier to forgive his brand of false reporting.

Ok Ok! What a noise being generated! FIRST of all-the bit Was very funny. Those that thought it not Didn't 'get it'. And those people are withen their rights to not 'get it' but We lack of perception. SECOND While BillO may enjoy better ratings than KO, ADVERTISERS look at the big picture. Whose ratings are rising and whose are flat or falling.Since BillO's are flat(a natural progression) and KO's Rising, ADVERTISERS will put money in the hot hand. Basic business. So stop whineing and go back to whatever mind numbing TV show You support.

Over the past 3 1/2 years, I have added so many of Keith's Special Comments to my favorites that they're in a folder. They encapsulate our recent history better than anything else. It's refreshing to hear someone so eloquent espouse what I've always believed about neoconservatism and the un-American fascists who champion its precepts. One thing he won't say is these people belong where they're most comfortable - North Korea - and the sooner they're stripped of their citizenship then deported, the better for the rest of us.
