Sherri Shepherd Doesn't Get That Whole BC Thing, Insists "Jesus Came First"

For whatever reason, the ladies on "The View" were discussing ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus this morning. Naturally, talk soon migrated to the topic of religion, and Sherri "I don't know if the world is flat" Shepherd came out to play. More specifically, to spew ignorance and a complete lack of understanding of basic world history! Discussing whether Christians were around during Epicurus' time (Epicurus lived from 341-270 B.C.), Sherri chimed in, "[The Greeks] had Christians 'cause they threw them to the lions."

When Whoopi tried to cautiously navigate her through the timeline of basic world events, saying, "I think this might predate that," Sherri responded, "I don't think anything predated Christians." Joy's attempt to explain the Greek-Roman-Christian chronology was futile, as Sherri insisted, "Jesus came first before them." Sherri's argument was all the more powerful due to her convincing "use your finger to write on the table" trick, but she can't fight the facts. Perhaps if Barbara were on today she would have explained THAT WHOLE B.C. THING (you know, as in, Before Christ).

"What would Jesus Do?" I think he'd say "Bring back Rosie!"

I don't know how long Sherri's contract with the View is, but my advice would be to save her money now because there's not a chance in H-E-double hockey sticks that she's be picked up.
Barbara and Bill picked a doozie this time.

I had a conversation with a friend of mine about this subject. I find it is very important to learn about as much as you can about the world in which you live. How can anyone make an informed decision about voting for candidates in an election to being involved in your medical choices if you do not have a sense of curiosity? I think people should ask questions, but we do not and allow some gross injustices to occur in the world. Quite frankly, if Sherri Shepherd was a religious as she claimed to be, she would know that Greeks and Romans came before Jesus. It is apparent she does not even read the bible because before Christ's birth, the Romans had control over Jerusalem as the Jews were paying tax to the Romans and lived under their laws. In addition, Christianity occurs after some years after Christ's death. Okay, if she does not read, Sherri could at least watch the History Channel. I think Sherri is an vacuous individual who show no interest of learning anything, and is more interesting as being seen on TV.

You know, I watched this thing again...it's a vignette that captures what is wrong with America today...enough people actually watch this gross display of vulgarity and ignorance to make it economic for the TV company to produce the show (presumably profitably)...

American values seem to have gone off track....we see the glorification of the vulgar, the ignorant, the gross...someone, somewhere thinks that this shit is good enough to be on TV and shown to millions of people...instead of hiding it away in shame...as a society America has started to believe that someone like Sherry is worth listening to...what does that say about what the producers of the show know about the American public..is this pig really worth more to you than a doctor, a nurse, a teacher?...

Someone in these posts in defending her said that she doesn't do any harm...but she does...the glorification of this vulgar ignorance corrodes society...ultimately it paves the way for the depravity in our midst...the Guantanomos, the Abu Graibs, the Hadithas, the Hummers, hip-hop and the like...

As a role model this pig is teaching America's children that it's totally cool to be an ignorant loud mouth...

I remember being told by a Jesuit during my undergradute years that Jesus was timeless, that the trinity was eternal, and that Jesus was always at the Right Hand of the Father, and the "historical" unveiling of the Jesus, the "son" was only his introduction to mankind. Do you think this is what she meant? Probably. She probably went to a Jesuit school and mastered Jesuit logic. :=) Giordy
