Exclusive: The Complete Huckabee-Dumond Files

As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous other women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.

But confidential files obtained by the Huffington Post show that Huckabee was provided letters from several women who had been sexually assaulted by Dumond and who indeed predicted that he would rape again - and perhaps murder - if released.

The letters of rape victims conveys to us how horrible Huckabee's judgement and motives can be and how he can be influenced by christian nut cakes; now let's hear about how petty he can be.

Would someone please cover his wedding registry ploy as he left the position of govenor? I somewhat remember this story and thought to myself, oh how tacky can he be. This wedding registry ploy was an obvious ploy to gather gifts from those he favored as govenor - he seems absolutely shameless. Bush has no shame and looke where that has gotten us.

"you rotten little goddamn jesus freak."

He's not a Jesus freak, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Pay attention and watch your filthy mouth in public. Didn't your mother teach you anything?

That right wing radio newscaster probably has tons of dirt on this blowhard of a politician. He has no foreign policy experience and only knows how to say "christian leader".

If Huckabee never lobbied the parole board and never saw any letters from women who were raped, he might truly be the victim of a hit job.

If Huckabee lobbied the parole board to release this guy, truly believing him to be innocent, it may well be an innocent mistake.

If Huckabee lobbied the parole board to release the guy, despite having evidence of his guilt in the form of letters from several women, then it is at least legitimate to question his motives.

If he is lying about real evidence he saw but claims he did not just to cover his ass, he could be guilty of 2nd degree manslaughter.

If he is lying about real evidence, and wanted this man released as a "gift" for raping a Clinton, that might be vile enough to make him an accessory to murder.

At this point, any of the above seems possible. We just don't have enough information yet to say which.

Barring the "hit job" on Huckabee scenario, the guy is dead meat, because the issue is not going to fade away easily. As much as the religious right loves him, the closer he gets to a spot on the Republican ticket, the more it will be in his face, if only as a major mistake in judgement. Eventually he will become political poison for the Republicans. The only question is when will Huckabee's Burden reach critical mass.

How nice, then he rapes and murders another woman and all old Huck can say is "boy what a tragedy! What a pice of crap this guy is, he works to get a rapist released because of politics and then runs around telling of his moral virtues! Sorry there Huck but when you live by the sword, well you know the rest.

this is the best thing to happen FOR america since rev ted haggard's gay meth romps in 2006 began to really expose "christian" corruption and hypocrisy at the highest levels of governmental influence

THERE WAS (and is still today) A REASON WHY THE FOUNDERS OF THIS NATION specifically DECLARED AMERICA TO BE A SECULAR NATION, WITH A STRICT seaparation of church and state

the absolute lack of compassion exhibited by rev huckabee in this appalling case beggars belief and should be a warning to every american citizen about what kind of treatment THEY can expect from The Reverend President of the United States of America,

A politician's early release of a criminal from prison that then KILLS after that release, thereby causing greater aspirations to fail for that politician - should forever more be known as...

a 'Dukakabee'.

Again Mark Penn takes advantage of the illiteracy of the American people. They do not know the difference between pardoned and paroled.

Pardoned is what Bill Clinton did to oil millionaire Mark Rich.
A president or governor pardons people.

Paroled is what happened to Willie Horton
while Dukakis was Governor of Massachusetts.

The Governor does not parole people, a parole board does.

Hillary would allow parole boards to vote on these monster.

What an unbiased treatment.[NOT!]

Where is the picture of Willie Horton
going through the revolving door.

I think someone should ask Hillary about he attitude towards cutting the balls of people
who have consensual sex with 16 year old cheerleaders.

You have neglected the "Sweet bird of Youth"
part of the story.

Huckabee would be a sure loser in a national presidential election so it's good he's getting lots of bad press. If you go through the pardons and paroles records of any governor you will find many cases where a released criminal has gone bad. So this isn't a big deal.

He tells a few one-liners, plucks a few cliche bass riffs, uses millions of people's belief in the Messiah to his own political gain, tells us not what Jesus would do but how "Jesus was too smart to run for public office", and millions of out-of-the-loop eveangelical sheep fall in love with him. How desperate are they?

Rudy's a fraud and an insult to millions of New Yorkers. Mitt's consistency on hot-button topics is at best lacking, and at worst ridiculous. He is shallow and despicable. McCain has stooped to lick Bush's boots so many times former supporters have lost all respect. Ron Paul holds no interest in the minds and hearts of Bible-belters. Who is left? (pardon the pun)

Now these morally indifferent actions of Huckabee have come to light. Lobbying the Parole Board to release this animal is repulsive. And to find out that because one of his victims was a distant relative of Bill Clinton, an arch-rival, revenge seems to be a possible motive. That just astounds me.

The pro-life/family values party is a sham. There is no believablility left. The Republican cadidate, whomever he may be, will have to absorb the endless parade of scandal-ridden examples of right-wing corruption during the general election while trying desperately to prove how different he is. That is an incredibly tall order for any of the current also-rans.

I would hope that even they will see that their ideology is the essence of extreme hypocrisy. Then, hopefully, they will implode from the lack of credibility they now enjoy.
