Talking Points:

A spokesman for the Mitt Romney campaign is thus far refusing to say whether Romney sees any positive role in America for atheists and other non-believers, after Election Central inquired about the topic yesterday

It's a sign that Romney may be seeking to submerge evangelical distaste for Mormonism by uniting the two groups together in a wider culture war. Romney's speech has come under some criticism, even from conservatives like David Brooks and Ramesh Ponnuru, for positively mentioning many prominent religions but failing to include anything positive about atheists and agnostics.

Yes, sir they do. They are the bureaucrats of this country. The tenured white college professors. The ones who worship only the public tit.

While we are all wasting our time talking about mormon underwear, Mitt the mormon is in bed with seriously evil people. From Nation:

"....Blackwater is deep in the camp of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Cofer Black is Romney's senior adviser on counterterrorism. At the recent CNN/YouTube debate, when Romney refused to call waterboarding torture, he said, "I'm not going to specify the specific means of what is and what is not torture so that the people that we capture will know what things we're able to do and what things we're not able to do. And I get that advice from Cofer Black, who is a person who was responsible for counterterrorism in the CIA for some thirty-five years." That was an exaggeration of Black's career at the CIA (he was there twenty-eight years and head of counterterrorism for only three), but a Romney presidency could make Blackwater's business under Bush look like a church bake sale...."

God thinks all blacks are obsolete farm equipment
God thinks the Jews killed his son and must be punished
God thinks the white man is Satan
God, they know what God thinks

God thinks we should all convert to Judaism
God thinks we must all be Christians and
God thinks we should all embrace Islam
God thinks the only true religion is Hinduism

And I
I know what God thinks
God thinks you're a waste of flesh
God prefers an Atheist

God thinks all people like you are evil
God thinks all people like you are an embarrassment to creation
self-righteous, judgmental, first to throw the stone
and use His name for your own protection

God thinks the sun revolves around the Earth
God thinks there was something very wrong with Copernicus
God thinks abortion is murder and
God thinks everything that science gave us is wrong
God thinks women deserve it
God thinks AIDS is a form of punishment

I hate people who blame the Devil for their own shortcomings and
I hate people who thank God when things go right

And I
I know what God thinks
God thinks you're an idiot
God prefers a heretic

God God
God thinks all people like you are evil
God thinks all people like you are an embarrassment to creation
self-righteous, judgmental, first to throw the stone
and use His name for your own agenda

God is a liberal
God is a democrat
God wants you to vote republican
never trust a man who puts his words in the mouth of god
and says that it's absolute truth
its lies and it smells like death
its all in a day's work taking money from the poor
Why do you think that God would need your dirty money
if he wanted to start a holy war?

self-righteous, judgmental, first to throw the stone
and use His name for your own protection

God thinks puppies need to die and
God thinks babies need to drown
'cause God is neither good nor bad
God is you and me

maybe because there is not anything positive to say about atheists and agnostics... With that being said this is just a typical foam producing hit piece

Apparently Mitt does not understand the constitution. I have a right to believe or not believe in anything, that is my freedom. Apparently he thinks that only applies to established religions, therefore violating the constitution.

Quite simply Atheists make up an insignificant voting block.

The vast majority of voters express some belief in a "God" and polls have always shown that voters expect a President to believe in God.

Also, I find the way that Atheists talk about religious people and their beliefs very interesting. They are so full put-downs that they fail to see that they are only hurting themselves since they look rather mean and vindictive via their insults.

But in the end most Americans don't really care what Atheists think since as noted there aren't enough of them voting to make any real difference.

It is a tribute to gw's so called legacy that this question has to be asked! How the f*ck did our government get to this point?

I don't buy into this whole not so friendly invisable friend in the sky. But hey, if that's what floats their boat. I can say that I feel that I am much more compassionate and aware of those in need than any of this religious right that I know. I care about the plight of people who have out grown the fetus stage. I hope when I am just dust that I have left a very small foot print here when it comes to damage and harm to this planet and its people. There is no judge but myself and I judge myself by what I have actually done here not by some imagined after life.

When I was six years old we had one of those Christmas nativity plays in our church, and I remember how proud I was to be assigned the role of Joseph. I felt real holy.

Meanwhile, I have abandoned that rather oblique role, both mentally and otherwise, lol. But the sweet infantilism still rings in my memory, and I can understand why the Jingle Bell part of the US population feels so good with their infantilistic holyness. It did feel real good to me, and if it is re-enforced through one's whole life, any psychologist can tell you that you don't have a chance to escape this subtle lifelong brainwashing, which started in your childhood. Emotion beats reason anytime.

This beautiful feeling of holiness implies a conviction of superiority over everybody who does not share this regression. (Bees don't tolerate bees from other beehives.) Those "unbelievers" actually are worthless, and if they are worthless, we might as well kill them. That was Hitler's rather successful propaganda: Russians are "Untermenschen", subhumans. Nobody has a bad conscience killing subhumans. It will do a favor to us and even to them. That also was the prevailing conviction in the Middle Ages, towards which substantial parts of America are presently returning.

But evolution will prevail: Some branches of species simply go extinct.

Sorry Mitt, we're here, there and everywhere, get used to us.

If he thinks that Mormonism and are religions are OK. Are Atheists and Agnostics sub-human in his way of thinking? I would like to know in what way he thinks he is superior as compared to an Atheist.

Mittler forgot what he wishes his faith from a few other faiths

He greatly admires the haircuts of th buddhists
He greatly admires the Druids green thumbs
He greatly admires Wiccans women in their clergy
He greatly admires Scientologist for their kick ass celebrities
He greatly admires hari krishnas chanting style
He greatly admires Jim Jones followers for being willing to follow instructions

Being an atheist I feel that I have more freedom than all people who follow a religion. No rules, but the one I apply to myself, no need to bend my head, to be on the knee etc... to be afraid of a judgement, and no need to subsidize a hierarchy of priests.

I totally respect Christians, Buddhists, Muslims etc... and many are my friends. However, I feel that Atheism gave me more tolerance, more respect, and it makes me understand that if you work hard you get rewarded by your actions, not by somebody or something else, and furthermore it gave the true freedom of thought without taboo.

Actually it looks to me that Atheist philosophy is based on the same tenet as any other religion without the business side. Honor your father and mother, don't kill, don't lie etc... you don't need to be religious for that, it's what I call the common sense!

So, Mr. Romney thinks that only Christians are on the right track. But that's exactly the point why separation of chruch and state exists. Look at what is going on in most of European country where separation of church and state is in the constitution. If a president divorces or has an affair does not make him incompetent or a kind of monster... It makes him more human!
