If we had quarantined those with AIDS in 1982 and had mandatory AIDS tests, you CANNOT argue against this: there would NOT be an AIDS crisis in America today, period. They could not have infected people through sex or needle sharing and the disease would have died off. EVERY new breakout of a communicable disease is treated like this: Quarantine. Are they "picking" on people when they do this?

Quarantined ghettoes, followed by concentration camps. Sound familar? Who's next in line for for this maniac? At what point will he start hearing voices offering guidance? This guy is very dangerous.

In justifying his quarantine policy for people with AIDS, Mike Huckabee referred (but not by name) to a 1991 finding that a dentist had infected a patient. In fact, he infected several. This is in fact still the only known case of a health care worker transmitting AIDS to patients. What isn"t generally known, but is common speculation among dentists, is that the dentist, Dr. David Acer of Stuart Florida, likely was suffering from dementia (a result of the HIV virus invading his brain) and almost certainly infected his patients deliberately. If this very likely scenario did in fact happen, then the use of this example by Huckabee and other religious right members to justify their bigotry and hysteria is exposed for what it is.

As a straight person I am offended by this man. Who the hell is he to tell people who are sick, you have to be quarantined? Has the guy ever read a book, or spoken to a doctor, who would have informed this moronic wing nut, that people can live long lives with this disease if on meds? Most with this disease have gone on to become lawyers, doctors, teachers, engineers, college students who get PHd"s? The man is seriously ill himself to even think as he is. What is next Mr. Huckabee, taking out old people, those who are not beautiful, thin, blonde and blue eyed? Oh, I forgot, he is doing that with his quarantine. He not only wanted AIDS patients locked in CAMPS, he wanted to cut AIDS funding...get THEM out of sight, and have them DIE QUICKLY without meds!

Huckabee differs from Fred Phelps, who protests AIDS funerals, Hate Crimes funerals, and Iraq vet funerals....only by a SLIGHT degree.

I oppose Huckabee, but facts speak for themselves.

1. Current policies are not working.
2. Infection rates keep rising across the board.
