In September 2002, four members of Congress met in secret for a first look at a unique CIA program designed to wring vital information from reticent terrorism suspects in U.S. custody. For more than an hour, the bipartisan group, which included current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), was given a virtual tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and the harsh techniques interrogators had devised to try to make their prisoners talk.

Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that years later would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said.

It has been confirmed that waterboarding was employed on those videotapes -- here is some leaked footage that has been uncovered, perhaps from the CIA?:

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." -- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

The memory of those briefings and the reporting by the MSM will slowly disappear just like all the proclamations by Hillary, Bill, Gore, and all the other Democrat Leaders that stated Saddam had WMDS long before Bush was in office, but somehow they were not lying but Bush was in repeating the EXACT same language.....LALALALAL LAND Liberals.

Biden Wants Special Counsel in Tape Case

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Senate Democratic leader said Sunday the attorney general should appoint a special counsel to investigate the CIA's destruction of videotaped interrogations of two suspected terrorists. Sen. Joe Biden, a Democratic presidential candidate and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, cited Michael Mukasey's refusal during confirmation hearings in October to describe waterboarding as torture.

I wonder if the Democrats will actually have the guts to force Madame Speaker Pelosi to tell the truth on this? Assuming it's true, I wonder if she was one of the two that said to go further? Either way, they should all resign. Do any of these assholes know that once severe trauma (torture, rape, etc.) happens to you it permenantly alters you? But I guess they could care less about actual facts.

Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.

Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States, and indeed the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world.

Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.

I want to explain why I have decided, with the unanimous recommendation of my national security team, to use force in Iraq; why we have acted now; and what we aim to accomplish.

As a retired Army intelligence officer who believes in the Geneva Conventions and has always been against the IMMORAL, ILLEGAL and INEFECTIVE practice of torturing prisoners, I think that all Democrats and Republicans who were briefed on and acquiesced to the Bush Administration's policy of torturing prisoners, should resign IMMEDIATELY, starting with my representative Nancy Pelosi.

Damn them all! For shame! Look what they have done to our country. We are no better than our enemies.

With information like (past and future), no wonder the Democrats are ineffective in dealing with the Bush admin - they're part of it.

A briefing on classified information is in part itself classified. The content is known only to briefers and briefees. Is there any record off the event other than the recollection of the attendees? Why is the story of the "officials" automatically credible? Those officials must have a motive for speaking now. How do we know there was no objection? How do we know that the content of the briefing was detailed enough to reveal something to protest? Lack of objection is not permission. I need a lot more info before I'm prepared to what took place and who said what.

I suppose the Democrats will eventually start to torture their constituents if we don't give them enough money.

Why not, after all, they made torture legal and they think free speech makes you a terrorist.

Jesus Christ, how did we get here?

The one scenario I haven't scene here(w/ a partial read) is the idea that the Bush crime family has already run it's gambit and we have lost our country but nobody is admitting it.

A victory by Hillary, Romney or Giuliani would mean the same thing folks, but expect the BCBCB dynasty to continue and get ready for JeeBush and the Norte American Fascist Union.
