AP:

Hillary Rodham Clinton made a strong case Tuesday for keeping the inheritance tax in place, saying it is a key to ensuring the United States remains a meritocracy.

At a joint appearance with billionaire investor Warren Buffet, Clinton said the inheritance tax, due to be temporarily repealed in 2010, was a symbol of "what kind of society we are."

The inheritance tax is a good thing. A new spend it before you die policy would stimulate the economy and keep people from hording needless billions if it all got taken when they went by by.

Does Hillary's statement make sense about taxing Inheritance and estates, she seems to be taking this issue to a philosophical level? "meritocracy"

I would like to see the Dems call it a " Patriotic American Tax, to help pay for the War." Now argue with that. " We have to support the troops and make sure this country is safe." Now argue with that. Twist bush's logic around to support a fairer tax plan.
Or get the 9000 Hedge Funds that are registered in the Cayman Island to come back to their beloved country. Why can't I register offshore and pay 15% tax??????

Apparently, much of the left is as brain dead and propagandized as the right. For all of you people who think the parties are just alike, you won't hear Republicans speaking out against the income gap, but let's trash Hillary by all means and end up with another Republican--Barack Obama.

When Warren Buffet says he should be paying more taxes - you know something is wrong.

Got to love Buffet - "How to get filthy rich while not screwing anybody.". The epitome of democratic capitalism.

Any tax plan has to be better than Huckabee's "sales tax only, no income tax" idea.

Given the relative percentage of income spent on consumption across the income ranges of the U.S., Huckabee's plan would turn us into a banana republic with 20,000 Carlos Slims and 295,000,000 peasants in just a generation or two.

Des Moines, IA (December 11, 2007) – The Biden for President Campaign announced the launch of its new television ad, “Action,” which will begin airing across Iowa tomorrow. In the 30-second spot, Sen. Biden asks Iowans to cast their support for a candidate with proven leadership, experience, and most importantly, action on the biggest challenges facing our country.

The ad points out that while promises are easily made, Joe Biden is the candidate with the longest record of promises kept. The Biden Plan for Iraq has received the bipartisan support of over 75 U.S. Senators, not to mention scores of Iraqi leaders, foreign affairs experts, and other public officials. And when Pakistan erupted in a state of crisis several weeks ago, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf called Joe Biden first—not President Bush. Sen. Biden concludes: “You don’t have to guess what I’d do as president. Just look at what I’ve done.”

“If Iowans believe campaign funds and celebrity will fix the debacle in Iraq, put the economy on track, and provide health care and education for America’s children, they should support another candidate,” said Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro. “But I’m confident that Iowans know what I know: our problems will require experience and leadership from Day One. Empty slogans will be no match for proven action on caucus night.”

You heard that crap about the right being more generous from Rush or Billo or Drudge, where you hear everything you hear.
Its a total lie like everything you'll get from those sources.
The Hillary as "socialist" remark was a hoot.
How do you like our "socialist" military?
Our "socialist" highway system?

I think Hillary is smarter than Bill and I'm even beginning to think she'd be a better president than he was.

And to you ChristianEcon.com, I think that these asses all need a couch on which to lie so they can have some serious psychoanalysis! I'm thinkin' though, they're probably not gonna get better!

that's right Hillary. You tell America you are a socialist and lets so how well that plays out in the general election.

"Clinton's remarks drew a rebuke from California Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring:

"Hillary Clinton's death tax is just another tax on assets that have already been taxed," Nehring said. "Under Clinton's plan, family-owned businesses and individuals stand to lose half of everything when the business and/or property pass from one generation to another."

Gee, I'm so impressed Republicans are so concerned about "family"-owned businesses and "individuals."
Is there any position these asses don't have to couch in a lie about who actually benefits?
