As soon as Oprah Winfrey endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for president, the buzz began about her potential to sway an election.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer, the media mogul seemed to downplay the power behind her seal of approval, saying that just because she is supporting Obama doesn't mean she is against any other candidate.

This doesn't even make sense.
Unless you take it as current/future thing. Oprah wants Obama, but if he doesn't get the nomination, her 2nd choice is probably Clinton. And it kind of sort of makes sense in that light.
Otherwise, it makes no sense at all. It's just Oprah being Oprah. Gotta let Oprah be Oprah. She's got lots of money and maybe she'll give you a cookie.

Yeah right and a vote for Nader was not a lost vote for Gore.

News flash: Oprah tries to have her cake and eat it too.

"A vote for Obama is not a vote against Clinton" is perhaps one of the most disingenuous statements I've heard this election.

oprah is a t.v. talk show host. bored housewives have made her obscenely rich. her talent is....what? she is important, why?

obama is an empty suit. he never says anything. just spews empty platitudes.

together, the size of their combined ego's blots out the sun.

No, it's a vote for Oprahma. O needs to learn about overexposure, much like Rachael Ray does.

O is a very smart, inspiring human being. That's why she's at a height you name-calling dunces can even dream to aspire to...She was was unequivocal that her support would not entail telling or advising anybody to vote for Barack. She gave reasons--solid reasons--why at this stage of the game Obama is the One she supports. She suggested that people think hard about their voting choices; that much was at stake. The first speech she readily admitted her nervousness--she's was upfront...I can appreciate the candor. You childish name-callers clearly have deep insecurities. Does it make you feel a little better about yourself to rip another human being, who--BTW--gives more back to the world than all of you whiners put together. Pathetic.

I think Oprah will regret her decision to involve herself in politics. Two polls show she has either a slightly negative (wash post -2 percent) or very negative (cbs -13 percent) impact on the race. The end result is that her comments show how little she knows and just irritates people who take politics more seriously.

Some pinhead always finds it necessary to comment on a person's looks or in this case "thunder thighs". What the hell this has to do with an adult discussion is beyond me. I know it is next to un-American but I don't care much for the opinion of any talk show host. I though Oprah gave a fantastic performance in the "Color Purple" and should have won an academy award. She has pulled herself up from nothing being a woman and a black woman at that and that should be applauded. But is there anyone that is stupid enough to base their precious vote on something Oprah says? Sadly yes.

She digs Obama.
So do I.
If he isn't the nominee, she digs perhaps Hillary.
What? Go all Ralph like 2000?
Smart woman.
Jesus. Election Politics 101.

What?! A vote for Kucinch is a vote for Freedom , and it most definately is a vote against all the other candidates.
This kind of disingenuous talk is why oprah is so annoying.

If she supports other candidates, then why the f**k is she wasting hers and our time with this s**t? I know! It's a huge marketing ploy to get all those housewives to THINK that she's political. But the truth is it's all a ratings stunt!
