Regret The Error:

Barack Obama appears to be a magnet for press errors. He was mistaken for "Osama" in two (1,2) news reports by CNN, and in one by the New York Post. Meanwhile, the Houston Chronicle once referred to him as a Republican, and the Hartford Courant has misspelled his first name on six different occasions dating back to 2004, with two of those instances occurring this year.

Anyone that believes this is all accidental is nuts. The press serves the corporate kings and not the public. Look at the run up to the War and all the excuses made for Bush in the first five years of his disasterous Administration. Even now, the press should be all over all the violations of law of this Administration and yet, nothing is more than a blip on the screen. We are loosing our democracy and the press is mostly to blame.

Helen Thomas noted that to survive, journalists have to get their facts right all the time on every report. Could it be the news business suffers the same malady many industries suffer from - executives trying to replace high-quality well-paid employees with cheap knockoffs that are "almost as good"? Or have the Rethugs started early on their next slime job?

The GOP is drooling for this guy to run against just to drum up more fear, loathing and racial prejudice. Obama could be a truly great President but needs more time for America to get to know his genius. That is reason #12, why I am urging the creation of the Tag Team from Camelot of Edwards/Obama for 08 and beyond!

The story seems to suggest that Obama should NOT get the nomination because the press makes too many mistakes and so will hurt his candidacy.
