In an exclusive interview with ABC News, President Bush spoke more candidly than ever before about his past alcohol addiction.

"I doubt I'd be standing here if I hadn't quit drinking whiskey, and beer and wine and all that," the president disclosed Tuesday to ABC News' Martha Raddatz during an exclusive tour of the White House residence.

The president told ABC News he quit drinking over 20 years ago -- cold turkey.

"I had too much to drink one night, and the next day I didn't have any," Bush said. "The next day I decided to quit and I haven't had a drink since 1986."

"And you did it just cold turkey?" asked Raddatz.

"I'm a better man for it," Bush said.

He dropped whisky and wine and used "the Nine" as his new enablers.

If GWB had made this confession at an AA meeting nobody would have called him a liar. Shame on those of you who doubt the confession of someone who appears to be an alcoholic.

When will the real truth come out as history for the gullible American public easily misled by Fox and RUSH?
When will it also come out about Bush being AWOL from the national guard? Imagine all the drunken sprees, marijuana and coke that he ingested while his dad covered it up!

Bush - the classic DRY DRUNK ( an alcoholic who has done no inner reflection or work)

Traits of a dry drunk

1. Grandiosity, put very simply, is an exaggeration of one's own importance. This can be demonstrated either in terms of one's strengths or weaknesses. In either case it is blatantly self- seeking or self-serving, putting oneself at the center of attention, from the "big me" who has ask the answers to the "poor me" whose cup of self-pity runneth over and wants all of our attention.

2. Judgmentalism is mutually related to grandiosity. It means that the alcoholic is prone to make value judgments - strikingly inappropriate evaluations - usually in terms of "goodness" or "badness".

3. Intolerance- leaves no room for delaying the gratification of personal desires.

4. Impulsivity is the result of intolerance or the lack of ability to delay gratification of personal desires. Impulsivity describes behavior which is heedless of the ultimate consequence for self or others.

5. Indecisiveness is related to impulsitivity in the sense that while the latter takes no realistic account of the consequences of the actions, the former precludes effective action altogether. ( I'll say!)

I remember seeing a video of him drinking and cracking jokes I think after he had just became governor. This man is an outright liar. The Enquirer and other tabloids love to talk about his drinking problems with Laura. These tabloids are even more truthful than this criminal administration!

Scorchedearth (commonly known as Sylvia Shitstripes said: "Libs outraged that the current pres had a drinking problem in earlier life."

Get this straight, Sylvia Shitstripes: No one here is outraged; personally, I hope he continues to drink himself into an early grave. Most posting here would even buy him the next drink.

At least Bill Clinton was, as you love to allege, raping women and not the little boys Republicans can't seem to stay away from.

I quit drinking 38 years ago. Mostly because I grew tired of always being drunk and out of it. It was affecting my family too. But, does that mean I should instantly be forgiven for all the bad and evil things I have done since then? I don't think so. So to the guy who doesn't think he isn't a bad President...he is all yours with my blessings. I am like the first commenter whenever Bush comes on television the channel gets switched. The guy makes my stomach churn with disgust. This guy has the IQ of a kindergärtner. Most kindergärtners are smarter.

It's too bad Bush waited until the age of 40 to quit drinking because he had already fried his brain by then.

And what does it do to your humanity, to spend most of 40 years hammered? You aren't learning much or growing into a better person while you're obsessed with alcohol.

Whenever I see GWB on TV, I change the channel, whenever I hear him speak on the radio, I change the station. Why? because I can't stand to hear him speak. He mutilates the english language daily. I thought it was a speach impediment, but now that I think about it it's exactly the way a drunk would speak. Slurred speach, mispronounciations, etc. I think that is why people still think he is drinking. The other possiblity is that he is just plain stupid. There is also the rumor the Laura Bush spends many nights in a hotel, rather than sleep with him at the White House. Maybe this is due to a relapse with alcohol. Who knows? Who cares? The sooner he is out of office the better off we and the world will be.

Too bad you didn't continue drinking, George. That way we wouldn't be suffering thru the worst meltdown in our history, thanks to your's and Dick's version of social engineering.

And don't even get me started about the fuck up in Iraq!
