This is a tremendous loss to both the world of music and the world of domestic violence.

If Ike died before he met Tina, he would still belong in the Hall of Fame. If you dont know this, go read a book. It takes two to tango. Reads like you have all seen Hollywood's version of Tina's version of what happened. Other members of the band will tell you they were both hell on wheels. Yes, it is true, unlike his detractors, Ike was far from perfect and Tina found a very profitable stone to grind her axe on, but only if it was juicy. Ike and Anna Mae, together, invented Tina Turner. If Sam Phillips wanted a white man who could sing the blues, Ike wanted a sexy woman who could sing rock and roll. Elvis wanted a virgin who was a whore and a few whores on the side. The Beatles all had abusive relationships with women. John Kennedy and Martin Luther King played around. Frank Lloyd Wright abandoned his first wife and family. Charles Lindberg had a whole other secret family. I wish we were all better people, the people we wish we were, as opposed to the people we are. I would guess all the people trashing Ike have folks in their families and among their friends they aren't proud of, that have real disturbing behaviors. Abuse isn't uncommon. It is in your family, too.

Amazing the judgementalism out there, not worthy of Huffposters. Anybody else out there have major flaws? I certainly do. Physical abuse is not forgivable, and for that there is no excuse. Still, this man was a major musician, warts and all. He did regret his wrongdoings and found redemption later in life,by coming clean and practicing his craft and his art. That is more than all of you who are casting your hypocritical damnation on him will have accomplished.

RIP Ike. You had a troubled,flawed life, yet you made it.

All humans make mistakes. No one is 'all' bad and no one is all 'good'. There is no hell and no one is a 'waste', except of course, in the small minds displayed here at HufPost. Be cautious people, because however much you need to judge him, you will also judge yourself. I see a lot of unhappy folks here.

I just love the lazy MSM. Tina Turner walked out on Ike in Dallas, Texas. (as stated in her book "I Tina" - the source used for whoever wrote this) not Las Vegas, Nevada. RIP Ike, and thanks for Tina.
