President Bush said Friday that baseball players and owners must take seriously the Mitchell Report on steroid use, but cautioned against jumping to conclusions about the individuals named.

Read blogs and more news on the Mitchell Report here.

Read his remarks and watch the video below:

"At the State of the Union I addressed the issue of steroids. The reason I did so, is I because I understand the impact that professional athletes can have on our nation's youth. I just urge those in the public spotlight, particularly athletes, to understand that when they violate their bodies they sending a terrible message to America's young".

Bush has no right to pontificate on anything except what a horse's arse he is.

Water-board the offenders, flush those steroids out! That's what a 'relevant' prez would do.

Everything Bush says falls flat and meaningless. I have to turn the channel whenever he's on. I can't stand the sight of his image or the sound of his voice. He should have been impeached for allowing 9-11 to happen in the first place. I can't think of a positive thing to say about either party or Bush. If disgust with Bush and Congress showed itself as a fog, you wouldn't be able to see your hand in front of your face anywhere in this country.

George Bush preaching about personality responsibility, is akin to a cannibal preaching about vegetarianism.

Steroids are "bad, bad, bad" said the
former baseball owner.

Owners are totally complicit in the
"roid" scandal. Bud Selig, George Steinbrenner,
Ted Turner, Rupert Murdock (yes, I know the
last two guys are former owners).

This from a man(?) who, because of his drug addiction, dd not honor his committment to the armed forces. A man who went for months wthout even showing up. A man who was grounded for refusing a drug test. A deserter.

Yo Frat Boy,

If these baseball mega-millionaires abuse their bodies--just like you did (do?) -- the league can handle that business so stop tsk, tsking. They are not, like you, responsible for every death, every broken body, every broken mind steming from your rush to war in Iraq and, amazingly, with no plan to end it.

Here I was, all fired up to post about Bush's hypocrisy, and his culpability as an owner of a team during the height of doping, but it seems that everything's already been said here -- and with ferocity! Wow.

Wrong. The owners and managers are the problem; not the players.

Owners have known about this for a long time. They decided it was not in their financial best interest to do anything about it, and privately made certain drugs were/are available for any player who wants them.

This whole investigation is just a smoke screen to take the heat off of owners.

And.......Bush "violates" America, along with countless US Military and Iraqi bodies.

Just another one of his public statements of tremendous depth and insight.
