Politico:

Clinton didn't mention specifics in the taping of an interview on "Iowa Press" this morning, but drew a contrast with unnamed rivals that echoes Bill Shaheen's now-notorious claim that unexplored elements of Obama's candidacy will make him an easy Republican target.

"I've been tested, I've been vetted," she said. "There are no surprises. There's not going to be anybody saying, 'I didn't think of that, my goodness, what's that going to mean?'"

Look, I have a real problem with anyone who runs for public office and did cocaine.

I didn't and I know a lot of folks who didn't either.

I too saw the interview in question...I even read a transcript afterwards. At no time did Sen. Clinton "hint" or "imply" anything about Sen. Obama. She was in fact speaking about herself.
Don't get me wrong...I like Obama and would vote for him without hesitation if he wins the nomination.
It IS a simple fact that everyone from Gingrich, to Ken Starr, to enterprising investigators lavishly funded by Richrd Mellon Scaif and the like..... as well as every political journalist in America have poked around in every corner of Mrs. Clinton's public AND private life for nigh on two decades.
When Obama & his supporters refuse to acknowledge simple facts known to all, he appears desperate. When minions twist simple facts known to all out of recognizable shape he appears disingenuous (that means "dishonest")In each case I begin to lose confidence in his ability to govern......tm

MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential hopeful Bill Richardson on Saturday decried the "nasty little fights" between his Democratic rivals, saying the scuffles distract from serious issues in the campaign.

In recent weeks, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's supporters have spread rumors against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and raised questions about his teenage drug use and his faith. Those discussions only hurt the Democrats and could have been avoided if they had joined him in a promise to run a positive-only campaign, Richardson said.

"Almost a year ago, I came out and said all the Democratic hopefuls need to sign a pledge that we won't attack each other. Only Joe Biden signed it with me," Richardson said to laughter.

The Richardson said the infighting hurts the party in the November general election and undermines their policy proposals.

"Why isn't the Democratic Party, why aren't all of us talking more about jobs? ... It should be about who can change this country, who can govern, who has the experience to do it and most importantly, who can bring this country together," Richardson said during a town hall laden with policy summaries.

His campaign has tried to play up his resume: New Mexico governor, former energy secretary, UN ambassador, congressman. On paper, he is one of the Democrats' strongest options, but he hasn't yet been able to catch fire.

"Some of the smartypants set in Washington think it's a two-person race so they're focusing on the fights between the two top people, the nasty little fights," Richardson said.

Current polls have a tight race emerging in the early states. Clinton posted 32 percent and Obama posted 31 percent among likely Democratic primary voters in a Concord Monitor poll released on Friday. Edwards was even at 18 percent and Richardson had 8 percent support.

Contrary to people’s perception, Obama went to private school all his life except his years in Indonesia. His grand parents could afford to send him to prestigeous Punahou prep school all the way up to private college. Obama is really smart to portrait himself as somehow coming from the south side of Chicago. The press is treating Obama as some rag to rich miracle simply because his skin color. Because of skin color, no hard questions can be asked at all. He wrote everything down already in his own book, didn't he? If Obama is a white man, can you imagine anyone will pay attention to a first term senator? The republicans, however, won't be so timid because they are being called racist anyway so what they got to loose?

Hillary is not sorry, Why would she say. I have been tested, I been vetted. This dose not sound like someone who is sincerely sorry. It sounds likes I'm sorry I got caught.

Ben Smith is a dishonest jerk.

I watched that interview with Clinton, and nowhere did the subject of Obama or Edwards come up.

In saying that she was "tested" and "vetted" she was simply talking about herself. It fit into her narrative that she is experienced and can hit the ground running.

Whether or not you agree that she is the experienced politician is up to each individual voter, but to come up with the theory that her comments were a slam on Obama is paranoia at best and a manufactured attack on Clinton at worst.

Worst than Hillary Clinton is Obama who has cashed in on hatred of women of which Hillary Clinton is an icon for. Edwards claim to fame is being a white male from the South and therefore more electable than a woman or a black. Disgusting.

If you want the best person for President who has respected all candidates, who 95% of minorities in his state have voted for him, who has passed the greatest civil rights legistlation in Congress since the Civil Rights Act - the Protection of Women Against Violent Crimes Act in 1994 and signed by Bill Clinton into law, then Joe Biden is the person, for both the protection of Women's rights and Civil Rights. Check his website www.joebiden.com

Huffington Post can bash Hillary Clinton till the sun goes down, but that will not elect a President (most of Obama's supporters are merely clinton haters - as are many of Edwards).

People looking for a qualified person to be President who has respected Hillary Clinton from day one and he does all women is Joe Biden.

Is this the kind of person you really want as the President. Someone who will stoop to these type of actions to get what THEY want??? An Extortionist? That is what Hillary is.

Of the 16 years Hillary claims to have survived against the Republican machine, 8 of them were as a First Lady when she was not accountable to the voters and 8 were as a hawk Senator from a deeply blue state running against token opposition and supporting the Republican machine's war(s). That's hardly "vetted" and "tested" against the Republican machine. She's been "vetted" and "tested" against the anti-war sentiments of the majority of the New York state and U.S. electorate.

The "vetted" and "tested" line is more campaign hype so that people attribute her husband's experience and record to her -- kind of forget that he was President, not she. She's is much more of a war-mongerer than her husband ever was and has a much more limited world view than he.

She is a danger to all of us who have family members in the military.

She has a record that will allow that Republican machine to eat her alive regardless of which candidate the Republicans put up. Those who judge her as the "electable" one are the same people who gave Kerry the ability to achieve the impossible -- lose the 2004 election because he was the "electable" one.

How does what she said equate to "hints at 'surprises in Obama's past?"

Why does no one read the article, but instead reads the headlines and then comments only on that?

Anyone else notice that about 6 weeks ago, the quality of the commentary on Huffpost took an intellectual nosedive and became disproportionately inane and immature and started to resemble what's said in Facebook and Myspace? Answer: when Huffpost started pandering to the feeding frenzy of Obama-ites.
