South Korean scientists have cloned cats that glow red when exposed to ultraviolet rays, an achievement that could help develop cures for human genetic diseases, the Science and Technology Ministry said.

Three Turkish Angora cats were born in January and February through cloning with a gene that produces a red fluorescent protein that makes them glow in dark. One died at birth, but the two others survived, the ministry said.

Hey, let's face it, Rudolph's not going to live forever. With these cats guiding the sleigh, foggy Christmas Eves will never trouble Santa again!

This is just the beginning

Soon parents will want to give their kids advantages...and then they'll want to improve themselves.

To all the animal rights folks getting all worked up, take a Valium please.

Who doesn't like cuddly little cats? Some make nice pets and some make nice experiments. If you have not noticed the world is not perfect or fair. You have to look at the NET RESULT of scientific experiments on animals. All that science and experiments over all those years and all those (agreed poor little) animals have helped us all. Like it or not, you have benefitted and the NET RESULT is positive.

Lord help us.

And why would we need cats to glow in the dark?

Oh, "....it could help develop cures for human genetic diseases".

Yeah...right!

Sorry, but when I hear Korea, and household pets, I think dinner menu.

Perhaps this is their way, of making it easier to harvest the smarter ones...

.

Bush has touted this as another apocalyptic sign of the end times.

"Baseball players becoming human-animal hybrids and cats what glow in the dark - it's all in the Babble. Soon Jesus will appear a-ridin' across the earth, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life."

Ah, scientists, now that the great cats-being-hard-to-see-at-night problem is solved, how about working a cure for the 40-fluid-ounces-between-the-ears problem Bush has?
