Rep. Ron Paul, whose rock star status on the Internet has singlehandedly fueled his campaign, is poised to break another online fundraising record.

His own.

On Nov. 5, which was Guy Fawkes Day, a symbol of rebellion in British history, Paul hauled in $4.3 million in 24 hours -- the most money raised online by a candidate in a single day. Today, the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the day that helped spark the American Revolution, Paul's Web-savvy, intensely loyal supporters planned another "money-bomb." And by 6 p.m. EST, the "Paulites" had raised $4.1 million from more than 30,000 donors, bringing the Texas Republican's

The platform of the Libertarian Party is far from anything Ron Paul professes.

http://www.lp.org/issues/platform_all.shtml

compare the Libertarian view above with Paul's view below.

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/

In his platform, "right to life" is paramount.
Health care is only for those who can pay.
No mention of freedom of religion is made.
Free trade, "free" markets are o.k.
Privatizing social security is just fine.
Paying for private education with tax funds would be allowed.

No, I'm afraid this fellow is just a Republican in Libertarian's clothing.

Ah Ha! I found a list of the Ron Paul supportes and folks, it's not pretty...Excerpt from a local paper covering the "Tea Party" event...

Said the local newspaper (http://www.thefacts.com/story.lasso?ewcd=36475b4d132fc0a1): "The elderly sat with teens barely old enough to vote. The faces were black, Hispanic, Asian and white. There was no fear in their voices as they spoke boldly with each other about the way the country should be. Held close like a deeply held secret, Paul has brought them out of the disconnect they feel between what they know to be true and where the country has been led."

Clearly, this is proof that he only appeals to a small group of ummm, er, (I'll be right back)

Ron Paul IS THE LIBERTARIAN'S CHOICE. If you want a grab bag of isolationists, white supremacists, anarchists, survivalists, and assorted nuts- support this turd. I wish all these crazy assholes would just send their money to me, or better yet- by an extra supply of your pain meds and do us all a huge favor, ya' dig? -you sick pukes. Jack Out.

Paul's platform is hardly current Republican.(Thank God) To me he reads more like a Libertarian. Maybe he should drop the Republican tag, and run as an Independent/Libertarian. Just sayin'. I'd vote for him.

TO: Mr. Ron Paul December 17, 2007

It was the serious oppression of debt that made the colonists begin the American Revolution with the Boston Tea Party. Motherland of England was not paying the colonists their rightfut money. It was economic oppression. Sounds like you Mr. Paul. The mercantile balance of trade caused the Boston Tea Party and the Stamp Act and other acts led up to the American Revolution. It sounds like you. The people who paid into Social Security should get their money back honestly. Social Security is a Law and not charity since it is like an annuity paid on an insurance policy. You cannot touch people's money Mr. Paul. It is their money. Chris Dodd, etc like you. In Conn Welfare I'm told is 6 mos in a Winter Environment. How cruel. Sirach 4,"My Son rob not the poor man of his livelihood and turn not the needy away." Catholic canonized. Jesus cared for the poor and came to Save all.

THE GOOD MAN CARES FOR OTHERS

The hermit does not pay for what he gets because he enjoys all the comforts of civilization that he owes to the efforts of others, but contributes nothing himself. He does not interest himself in the problems of society--in the poor, the suffering, the struggling. He is a distastefully,self-centered man. Therefore I neither approve of him nor respect him. Well he gets money but still does lousy in the polls. What good is all this money really going to do? It's going to buy advirtising that will reinforce to Republicans why they don't like this guy. He's going to need a rediculous turnout of independents in the primaries and hope that almost all of them vote for him. It's just not going to happen. I don't see him winning a single state. Now I never say money is wasted if you give to a candidate you believe in, but that's a lot of money to get for someone who barely has a prare.

Though there isn't a hard number yet, the Ron Paul campaign has announced that the total fund raising from yesterday's voter-driven campaign will be in excess of $6M, which surpasses the previous record of $5.6M held by John Kerry as the single largest fund raising day in American political history.

Progressives/Liberals/Democrats or whatever they want to be called attacking Ron Paul Supporters, you got to be kidding me.

Let"s See!!

Who got it right, and who got it wrong?

October 11, 2002
H.J. Res 114

Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution

Senator Biden (D) - Yea
Senator Clinton (D) - Yea
Senator Dodd (D) - Yea
Senator Edwards (D) - Yea
Senator McCain (R) - Yea
Senator Thompson (R) - Yea
Representative Hunter (R) - Yea
Representative Tancredo (R) - Yea

Representative Kucinich (D) - Nay
Representative Paul (R) - Nay

Lets see, who are the only candidates to never vote for this war nor never vote to fund this war?

Who are the only candidates that have been right since the beginning?

Don"t get me wrong, the 8 candidates that got the most important vote of their career wrong are good people, but do they deserve to be President when they definitly made the wrong decision?

Go ask the more than 3,800 families if the 8 candidates that voted incorrectly back in October 2002 should be rewarded the Presidency of the United States.

Don"t give me that "Obama never voted for the war"..If I"m against the Wal-Mart Corporation, should I be grocery shopping there? You say your against this war, and then vote to fund it!

It's also tooooo easy to be a Democrat and say your against this war, but try being a Republican and voting against this war from the beginning.

Vote your conscience people!!!

Keep at it Mr. Paul, but it won't make a difference, just look at the new findings from the 2004 theft in Ohio. See Democracy now program of just today.

This guy is great. He is really shaking up the GOP!

HUFFPOST: How about you call The Boston Globe and other papers and ask why this record breaking event didn't make the front pages?

Imagine - a Tea Party in Boston and it DOESN'T MAKE THE GLOBE FRONT PAGE!

Dear FAT and Sassy, self serving Citizens of the USA. You should know your are on a slipery slide to oblivion! You people have reached the top rung of the ladder and there is only one way for you, and that is DOWN! Take a look at what is happening. Your country is being over run by illegal uneducated people. your two party government system. does not CARE for you, except to USE you to supply the needs of the controlling militaryindustrial complex. And you are being rejected as being untrustwothy by other nations... Too bad! You will fade into history as a misserable memory.

If we can support a war we can support free health care

I find it amusing that most of Dr. Paul's detractors have to resort to stereotypes, slander, and outright lies in an attempt to debase him or his campaign. His ideas are bulletproof (guess where I stole that line from), which is why nobody addresses the merits of them.
