I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Huckabee Cultural Warrior

Mother Jones:

At the last Republican presidential debate, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who had surged into the lead in the Iowa polls, pitched himself as the potential president who could unite a nation divided. "I think the first priority of the next president is to be a president of all the United States," he said. "We are right now a very polarized country, and that polarized country has led to a paralyzed government. We've got Democrats who fight Republicans, liberals fighting conservatives, the left fights the right. Who's fighting for this country again?...We've got to be the united people of the United States."...

... In a 1998 book decrying American culture, Huckabee was no seeker of common ground. He drew stark lines, equating environmentalists with pornographers and homosexuality with pedophilia and necrophilia. He also declared that people who do not believe in God tend to be immoral and to engage in "destructive behavior." He drew a rather harsh picture of an American society starkly split between people of faith and those of a secular bent, with the latter being a direct and immediate threat to the nation.

Oh boy, he's just what we need, after the Idiot In Chief, a 21st century Cotton Mather.

He didn't have any trouble putting pressure on the parole board to release a rapist, who when released raped and murdered a woman... then denying/lying he did such. Maybe his excuse instead of "flat-out" lying about enabling the rape and murder should be the immorality of the times and.. of course the immorality of others, which crept into his "God-fearing" mind, which I doubt he has except as a lie, of course.

He has no guilt about what he did, that's why he's able to lie about it. Victims can't vote, anyway. He's like what we have in office, now. I don't see an encore of the mantra: There are those who are stepped-on and those who do the stepping. Huckabee's popularity if you want to call it that is he's going s-t-e-p as hard as he can. Ain't going to work this time folks.

Huckabee is a born characterless fool and if I were Murdoch I would be salivating to put him on the Air. My...he could reach out to the Fox audience...have them "eating-out-of-the-palm" of his hand.

What a simplistic moron! People who are evil attack others instead of facing their own failures. In People of the Lie, M. Scott Peck examines the narcissism that motivates these "hucksters" selling snake oil. He examines the evil that produced the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam. Although he wrote the book in the early seventies, it is all the more relevant today.

Evil is "live" spelled backwards but by equating opposition to abortion the Christian right is able to take the "moral high ground_ and pursue killing with a vengeance. Evil has to do with killing, says Peck, a psychiatrist. "But that brand of killing (in My Lai) was only a misstep in the ritual dance of death we call war. War is a form of large-scale killing that we humans consider an acceptable instrument of national policy."

Man I hope this guy wins the Republican nomination. MIKE GRAVEL would trounce him in a general election.

There is so much dirt on this guy that hasn't come to light yet. He is *loathed* by most of Arkansas, and no one except the Jesus Camp people will vote for him.

He is Jerry Falwell with better speaking skills.

Seems to me mr. huckleberry is laying the blame everywhere but where it belongs. How are all the problems blamed on the government? Seems to me the issues lie with personal responsibility and parenting. But in typical gop form, blame everyone/everything but the real root cause. This man is scary and is certainly a poor choice to lead this country - he's exactly what we don't need right now. Isn't there a nice theocracy he can lead somewhere?

The vast majority of pedophiles are fathers, uncles, friends and other relatives of children, and the vast majority are straight. I've known hundreds of gay men in my life and the statement Huckster has made is simply not true. He should spend more time worrying about having a son who tortures animals -- a known precursor to becoming a serial killer.

Then why doesn't Gomer call for L. Craig's resignation?

Hah, looks to me like gays are ok if they bend over and take it from the social dominators (Log Cabin Republicans).

Gayness is only bad if you receive, I think that is the message. Then it makes you LESS Republican and less worthy.

Such foolishness based in an authoritarian, dictatorial mindset.

Ugh.

More good news. The higher gum flapping nutcases like Huckabee go the easier it is for a sweeping democrat victory. Whore Rommney is fighting Huckabee because he's gaining, instead of ignoring the bitch.
Family values Huckabee's son is obviously a vegetard. I mean who hangs a dog from a tree for the sheer joy of it? And the fundamentalist Huckabee comes out in the light of day with that kind of family embarassment and shame, and just keeps on truckin.
Has anyone seen the family photo of the Huckabee underactive thyroid disorder? Jesus what fat fucks.
Keep up the good work Huckabee you are doing the democrats a favor.

See this movie and awaken ... the global elite are on the march against us. They are at war with all of us who are not them. They enjoy our deaths and destruction. It turns them on.

To quote Malcolm X regarding the Republicans' theocratic nightmare in the person of Mike Huckabee, it's clear to me that "The chickens have come home to roost."

It only took them 28 years.
