Cynthia McKinney formally launches her Green Party campaign in a Web video.

"The Republicans have deceived us, the Democrats have failed us," she says.

Her site also contains a link to a blog with a pre-emptive defense of her hair.

When is the Green Party going to grow up and stop running presidential candidates when they don't even have a green party member holding office as a dog catcher?

Seriously... if the Green Party ran someone for congress or senate on a REAL campaign I'd probably vote for them. Until then it just seems as though they have NO intention to actualy acclompish ANYTHING continually running for an office they have NO chance of winning.

It's kinda insulting to the citizens who do get behind a Green Party like agenda.

What the hell has Ralph Nader done for the greater good lately?

If HE had run for Senate or Congress he probably would have won.

Until the Green party starts paying attention to local politics they'll just be an annoying rash that pops up every four years.

McKinney is a brave women & I respect her. I wouldn't vote for her, but she deserves to be in our Gov. chasing the bad-guy's.

It Mittens Romney who has funny hair. There are only two candidates whose hair is all natural as God intended, they are Cynthia McKinney and John Edwards.

Edwards/McKinney 2008; the Natural Hair Party.

Obama should let his hair grow out and wear a Fro.

You know what's sad? It's not even that a group undertaking a principled stand to try and improve American Democracy doesn't have a chance in hell. It's that a bunch of these posters are getting off on ridiculing the attempt.

That wacko McKinney with the funny hair! What is she thinking? She's thinking about trying to make American Democracy more than a rhetorical, flag-clutching talking point.

Believe it or not there was a time in this country when people did more than post on sites like these, vote democrat and high five during a Keith Olbermann special commentary towards the improvement of their country.

Everyones become so sedated and resigned that true progressive measures are only good for Huffpost's oddball segment. Keep laughing, keep typing snarky posts. What's to be expected from people who confuse the power to purchase on credit with wealth, or 500 cable channels with freedom of choice?

This is the twilight we're in. Maybe it is funny. Maybe it is ridiculous to see people trying to save us.

YES!!!!
I've been waiting for this crazy bitch to get back in the news. Please, please, pretty please give her as much coverage on the Huffpost as you guys give Amy Winehouse.
It's like Christmas just came early.

I do not agree with her on some issue, but she has the right to run for President just like the rest. I do not know if people will vote for her.

One, despite what the idiotic neocon MSM pundits say, there will ALWAYS be a third party in America. The truth is the other two are so power hungry that they'll do anything they have to to crush opposition.

So now, instead of trashing her for her hair, her politics or anything else you can think of, why not applaud her for actually doing something instead of just sitting on her ass and bitching?

Dammit, she's gonna split the ticket again!

We might need those 7 votes.

Just what the presidential race needs: yet another person with delusions of adequacy.

You couldn't make this shit up if you tried and I don't think we've seen anything yet!!!

OMG she should get a good ten or twelve votes.

Have you people learned NOTHING?! You GAVE us George W. Bush by voting for Ralph Nader. You think you're so morally pure, but if you had learned to compromise and realize a single thing about reality and voted for your now hero Al Gore, wouldn't things be different? Wouldn't a lot of people be alive and unharmed who are now dead and maimed? Wouldn't that have been the moral choice, after all?

Get over yourselves and vote Democratic. You're working for the enemy otherwise and you know it. And if you don't know it then get a fucking clue.

An embarrassment.

McKinney punching a cop and William Jefferson hiding $90,000 stolen money in his freezer have set minority politicians back 20 years.

They make Rice and Powell look like angels.

She needs to find another profession. Boxing would be good.
