A brief flurry of hope that the University of Iowa would reverse its policy and open the dorms for caucus night was dashed on Wednesday night.

In a 5:30 p.m. email to the group's 1,000 member list, University Democrats chair Atul Nakhasi reported that the University had decided to join Iowa State and Northern Iowa and allow students to return to their residence halls Jan. 3, as long as they notified their residence assistants before leaving for Christmas break, which starts Friday.

But just before 9 p.m., Nakhasi issued a retraction.

YEAH!...

If you're not a RESIDENT of IOWA, you shouldn't be able to caucus...

Sorry, Barak... Looks like that ploy didn't work... Now you can see what it's like counting on someone's votes and them NOT SHOWING UP... At least with the IOWA students, the reason is legitimate and appropriat­e...Can't say the same for YOUR U.S. Senate no-shows.

Too bad for you that more and more of us who are paying attention see that you are a lot of talk and passing the collection plate, but when it comes to the REAL DEAL of BEING A LEADER, you just don't cut it...
