Just two weeks until the Iowa caucuses, the Democratic presidential candidates appear to be in a dead heat in the Hawkeye State, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll.

Thirty percent of likely Iowa Democratic caucus-goers support Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York as the nominee, with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois at 28 percent and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina at 26 percent, according to the poll, released Thursday morning.

There is a much more simple and fundamental reason why Senator Obama should never become our president or vice-president which everybody can understand. In plain English, Senator Obama has been one of the "paymasters" for the war in Iraq which makes him co-responsible for everything that happened and will happen in that war.

Approximately 60% of Iowan Democratic caucusers do not favor Clinton. Approximately 60% of Iowan Democratic caucusers do not favor Edwards. Approximately 60% of Iowan Democratic caucusers do not favor Obama. The lame "winner" of this preposterous charade is obviously not the favorite of the majority of Iowans.
I live in Houston, Texas. When I watch TV coverage of the Iowa campaigns I am dumbfounded. That world is light-years away from mine. The overwhelming majority of people I noticed were whites and non-latinos. The only genuine African-American I've seen was Magic Johnson and he is not even a resident of Iowa. If these three candidates come to Houston to campaign for our votes they will be surprised by the not-so-enthusiastic reception by the Latino community here. Houstonian and Texan Democrats may actually go mostly for Richardson if he is still a candidate. I bet that there are many more Democratic voters in the greater Houston area than in all of Iowa and therein lies a sad tale.

Edwards' support among Democrats is based on the FALSE perception that he is a "progressive". Comparing his votes in the senate to Russ Feingold, who we all know and trust as a REAL progressive, illustrate this quite clearly:

1. Trade with China (Bill Number: HR 4444)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

2. Travel Ban to Cuba (Bill Number: S 1234)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

3. Religious Symbols in Public Schools (Bill Number: S 254)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

4. Strengthen Penalties Against Juveniles (Bill Number: S 254)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

5. Closure of Unnecessary Military Bases (Bill Number: S 1059)

Edwards: No Feingold: Yes

6. Bush's No Child Left Behind (Bill Number: HR 1)

Edwards: Yes Fengold: No

7. Prescription Drug Benefit for Medicare (Bill Number: S 1)

Edwards: No Feingold: Yes

8. Military Force in Iraq (Bill Number: H J Res 114)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

9. Patriot Act (USA Patriot Act of 2001)

Edwards: Yes Feingold: No

If one looks at Edward's financial disclosures, it is also clear that he is NOT the anti-corporate hero that his supporters think he is, as he has invested in and profited from oil stocks, defense stocks, and sub-prime lenders who prey on the poor (see links below).

Iowa "second choice" comes into play - Non viable candidates.

Once Kucinich, Biden, Dodd, & Richardson get knocked out during the Iowa caucusing, where do you believe the majority of their supporters will go?

Edwards' fans,

John Edwards has run a bright campaign pledging to fight special interests. Edwards"s supporters, the moment to topple the special interest regime Hillary Clinton defends is now. Join us in the anti-special interest vote.

Consider that John Edwards"s campaign has committed to accepting matching funds which will result he will be outspent by Hillary 4:1 in states in which she has been campaigning for 15 years. John Edwards will be unable to compete. We implore you to join us. Don"t let them drive a wedge among us.

Edwards supporters, our favorite candidates have debated respectfully on the issues. Their most compelling agreement and track record is fighting special interests. Barack Obama worked with Russ Feingold to do just that the moment he arrived in DC. The way of making your dreams come true depends on your willingness to align yourselves with the candidate who has a good chance of beating her in every state. Not because I or the pundits say so, but because it's the reality. Our campaign has 450,000 individual donors as we speak.

Edwards fans, just like a son of mill worker fought hard to claim the American, Obama rose from an under-privileged background to realize his potential. Together they represent the American dream both wanting to give back to their communities, fighting the quasi-incumbent who claims her husband"s executive experience as her own.

John Edwards fans: don't let them drive a wedge between us. Together we marched in DC and NY and San Francisco and against the occupation in Iraq. Only together we can reclaim the soul of the Democratic Party. We need you, in Iowa and across the country.

Edwards supporters your moment is now: let"s not repeat the mistakes of Florida 2000.
Barack understands that the game of "divide and conquer" has been used by right wing fascists throughout history. The only way to achieve progress is when we debate the issues not psychodramas. The only way to achieve progress is to join our forces and fight together. John Edwards fans, your moment is now.

A progressive activist

Hillary is going to crush Obama. You folks have been protecting and pumping the Clinton's for 16 years. You've reared our children in the schools to revere the Clinton's. It's too late to pull them down and replace them with Obama. You don't have a chance now that you have brainwashed the public, you can't undo it, even if you want to.

Hillary and Bill will smear their way into the nomination and probably right into the whitehouse.

Well Huffington has eliminated Edwards from the picture and the eliminated Democrats from any chance at being elected to the presidency.

No one to the left of Joe Leiberman will vote for either Hillary or Obama. Good luck at getting half the Republican votes DLC guys.

Although I will vote for the candidate of the Democratic Party in next year"s presidential elections I am not a supporter of Clinton, Edwards, or Obama now. To explain my current rejection of Edwards and Obama I must return to the debate in which Senator Clinton was asked what she thought of Governor Spitzer"s plan to give driver licenses to illegal immigrants in the State of New York. To me Clinton"s answer was clear and cogent. In essence she said that she understood Spitzer"s concern but that she would not implement such a policy if she were New York"s Governor. Hence there was no rational justification for Edwards and Obama to challenge her answer. Then why did they jump on her and essentially accuse Senator Clinton of having "triangulated" the issue? Because by so doing they implied that Clinton would actually give driver licenses to illegal immigrants if she were New York"s Governor and that her denial was probably insincere. They also knew that the overwhelming majority of Democratic and Independent voters are anti-illegal immigration. By painting Clinton soft on illegals they banked on the huge fear-factor in the country. The challenge by Edwards and Obama was right out of Joseph Goebbels" fundamentals of debating tactics. Subtly imply that your opponent lies. What Edwards and Obama did on that day was more than clever, it was a filthy use of illegals as a wedge issue among Democrats. They should have kept their over-sized traps shut instead of attacking a fellow Democrat on the slippery slimy slope of immigration policies.

I live in Houston, Texas. My choice for our next president will be determined to some extent by the future health of this city and its residents. When I look at the numerous TV reports about the "Iowa Caucuses" I am bewildered. I see a world that is light-years removed from mine. So far the only African-American I have seen in these reports was Magic Johnson and he does not even reside in Iowa. The overwhelming majority of caucusing Iowans seem to be white and non-Latino. Why does the result of this charade mean anything?

This presidential campaign has become about who will keep the Iraq war and occupation going the longest. Since the second tier candidates are not faring as well in the polls, and probably won't get nominated as either the (D) or (R) nominees, I must conclude that the majority of Americans like the Iraq war, despite what the media tells us. Good job, folks! Once again you're choosing the candidates with the least vision and the weakest spines, but who look fabulous! Clinton, Edwards, Obama...Brittney, Paris, Nicole - same damn thing. Stupid Americans.

Edwards / Obama '08

That is a ticket that would cause the republicans to shit their pants and result in their probably only winning about 38 electorial college votes.

If Edwards can get a couple of upsets early, Al Gore might endorse him, resulting in an even bigger upset on Super Tuesday.

Ask not what your candidate can do for you,
but what your candidate can do for other Democratic candidates.

Many other Americans have already answered that question. In almost every NATIONAL poll, John Edwards wins the general election by the GREATEST margin when matched against ANY Republican nominee.

John Edwards is the MOST electable nationally, AND he will provide a boost to state and local candidates in races all over the country.

If you want real change. Support John Edwards.
