To demonstrate that, while he may look like the Platonic ideal of 1950s sitcom fatherhood, he's still "down" with the "brothers," Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has repeatedly stated that his father "marched with Martin Luther King." When various journalists found no evidence that his father, George Romney, ever marched with the civil rights leader, a spokesman for the Romney campaign qualified the statements:

"He was speaking figuratively, not literally."

My fathers famile were are republicans, my mothers family were life long democrats, my fathers family had 9 siblings, prior too the civil rights era, they were democrats, then like many dixiecrats fled too the republican party, two of my uncles are klansmen, one a high ranking republican official in the county of which I am from, my aunts [5] are all alleged self proclaimed non racists but they all adhere too the klan doctrine of blacks are cursed by mark of cain, just by the way as the mormons doctrine taught, all that being said, the biggest joke today in republican party is how they find people of color, gays too join their party, the log cabin gay republicans is one example, or has anyone noted the little sissy black guy who is always on fox news defending Bush, its almost comical how these folks of no moral fiber, intestinal fortitude sell themselves too those whom view them as abominations before god, but then nothing the repbulicans do surprise me, the difference between a republican and democrat is small, the choice of choosing the lessor of two evils, one the greedy, modern day Pharisee's the republicans, or the weak, sometimes strong democrats who do give a crumb once in a while too the poor, naked, hungry, those sick and in prison, only if it getst them elected, but then thats our system, until a truly viable 3rd party comes along, one choose the republicans whom will not let one crumb go too the average man/woman/child, but give all they can too the richest 2%, who need it the least..

Luckily MLK never had to march anywhere near Joseph Smith, I wondered what would have happened if he did.

Any takers

From the Politico speaking about Martin Luther King and the senior Romney, "Ashby Richardson, 64, of Massachusetts gave the campaign a similar account.

"I"m just appalled that the news picks this stuff up and say it didn"t happen," Richardson, now a data-collection consultant, said by phone. "The press is being disingenuous in terms of reporting what actually happened. I remember it vividly. I was only 15 or 20 feet from where both of them were.""

George Romney was an ardent supporter of civil
rights & none too popular with the majority of
Repos in the sixties & later who were not. Give
Mitt a little credit, anyway, for trying to bask
in his father's glory, such as it was.

When a leading Fake Republican Presidential candidate flagrantly lies through his rich man's teeth and gets caught - "He was speaking figuratively, not literally."

Anyone else tired of this shit?
