It's just two days before Christmas and the shots between the campaigns haven't slowed with the season.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., at a stop in Des Moines at the West End Diner, blasted former North Carolina senator John Edwards on independent third-party 527 groups.

"My attitude is if you can't get your former campaign manager and political director to do what you like then it's going to be hard to get the insurance companies and the drug companies to do what you like," Obama told a small group of reporters.

Check this out - it explains why Obama is "jealous" of Edwards. Edwards is getting 56% of his support from labor unions - which does make him the "working man's candidate." Obama is getting zero support from labor unions as of 9/30/07. 92% of Americans get a W-2 which makes them "workers."

The fact that organized labor has much to gain from a President who 1) doesn't privatize social security 2) national health insurance 3) protects pensions 4) mortgages 5) education of children.

Obama does get money from Sachmans-Gold - who wants to privitize social security - does create a conflict of interest - not to mention the fact that as of 9/30/07 - Obama has taken more than $30m from Corporations.

Clinton no better.

Candidates running on public financing are in the order of experience: Biden, Richardson, Dodd, Kucinich, Edwards.

Edwards better get his pasty azz finger out of that mans face. I'd love to see Obama just knock his teeth out. I'm so sick of "certain" people thinking they can get up other "other" peoples faces like that.

Something for the Hillary people to chew on:

The power of Bill Clinton, this story was front and center of the Politico and Google news about an hour ago, now it"s nowhere to be fount. Politico had a big picture of Hillary as the morning headlines, now I can"t find the story anywhere on the Politico. What did Bill Clinton offer these news org. to kill the story.

Read and believe, Hillary has run a tumultious campaign and now this, if she can"t run a campaign, how does she expect to run a government. I"m not buying this woman as a strong leader.

DES MOINES (Reuters) - Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton may have shot herself in the foot trying to get Iowa voters to pledge support to her -- she is encouraging them to caucus on January 14, 11 days too late.

At a rally featuring her husband, former President Bill Clinton on Saturday, campaign workers asked supporters to sign and mail cards that said "Yes! I'm an Iowan for Hillary" with their contact information as well as other supportive friends.

This is what I hate, Democratic candidates ripping into each other. It says to me that their hunger for power exceeds their desire to repair the country. They should be saying that any one of them would be better than what the other side has to offer, and campaign on their own ideas rather than attacking each other. Their very pettiness rules them out as serious choices in my book.
Is there a poll to measure this sentiment? I can't be alone, can I?

That finger looks just like Bill Clinton telling his famous lie. I did not have sex with that women.

Obama goes negative. Very good news. It means he is in trouble. Obama would get destroyed in a national election and he must be stopped. The sooner the better.

The fact is Edwards has internal polling that indicates this in Iowa: 1. Edwards. 2. Clinton 3. Obama - if this holds (God willing) Obama is finished. Also - after "round one" in Iowa Biden and Richardson people swing to Clinton. Obama cannot allow Edwards to peal away his voters. Right now he is.
After all is said and done Obama is all smoke and mirrors. When the media finally turns on him - and it will- it is going to be ugly. After "fresh" and "new" is stripped away - he has nothing. His "record" in Illinois is sketchy at best. It won't survive examination. His negatives are going up in leaps and bounds now. Obama is one mistake away from being cooked.

Of course, Obama doesn't have to worry about getting the insurance companies and the other corporations to do what he likes because he's already announced that he's going to let them do what they want. Just another neoCon.

I'm not for Ron Paul because I don't support libertarianism, but he's absolutely right that this country is controlled by corporations. Soft facism.

To all the John Edwards backers, let me first define myself. I do have a lingering disdain for Edwards and so does John Kerry, this is a direct result of him not carrying his state in the last election. A man who does not carry his own state does not deserve to be elected, I feel the same resentment toward Al Gore for not carrying Tennessee, he did not deserve to be elected. I also feel that John Edwards seeks to become a leader by jumping to the head of the line ahead of many others who lead when times were not so easy for them.

That said, here is the question for Edwards backers, since John Edwards has taken out a bank loan using Federal Match Funds as collateral, what is his plan for winning the nomination. Edwards for two years wrongly assessed the Iowa vote and did so while neglecting the other 49, ever heard of Pat Robertson, won Iowa and was gone after three primaries.

Edwards too faces such a scenario, win Iowa and loose the next two and sit out the Feb 5th mega money primaries, Edwards shot his wallet in Iowa and can"t raise any more money. I say Edwards stays thru the SC primary and then makes an endorsement of another candidate, thus John Edwards get a chance to be a king maker.

What say yee?????

photo

See that picture?

People still wonder why John Edwards only has 2% of the African American vote? I'm not.

That photo, whatever was going on at the time is irrelevant, but it does symbolize the way the Democratic Party treats African Americans who have the "audacity" to enter into the political process.

The DNC thinks that Blacks are only supposed to vote. But if we dare try to run for office, they get very hostile. This photo, only reminds me of that hostility and domineering attitude the DNC demonstrates towards Blacks.

Wow. It really is the truth. He who keeps silent is considered wise.

Until he opens his mouth and speaks.

That was the most illogical rediculous mud slinging I've heard since the kindergarten talk from Hillary. Obama, you just lost a supporter. I thought you were better than that. That was an embaressingly cheap shot to take.

You know, I'm getting really tired of the rediculous illogical mud slinging. I am a game programmer. I make more money than my parents ever did in their whole lives. I worked and sacrificed incredibly hard for it.

I have spent myself broke helping family members in need, because they needed help. One day I realised that I could help a lot better if I had more resources and influence to get others to help.

You try to tell me that just because I actually live a better lifestyle than the people I try to help that I am a hypocrit, Well, what the hell are you doing to help the people I help? NOTHING. I worked for what I have and I won't apoligize for enjoying my life. The point of helping people isn't to drag the person helping down too. It's to help raise someone who needs help up.

People criticise John Edwards for spending $400 on a haircut or building 25,000 SF house. What the hell?? Is this the United States of America or not?? Is this the place where you are free to pursue happiness or not? What in the hell is wrong with being wealthy and enjoying it??

I find that it is people who just talk who make this criticism. Nobody who actually sacrifices to help someone in need makes these judgements, because they are rediculous.

If John Edwards were to claim that he gives everything he owns to fight poverty and he lied about it then he would be a hypocrit. He gives what he gives and he should not be judged because he lives a lifestyle that he worked hard for.

#1: The next time Mr. "Present, EXCEPT WHEN HE'S NOT" Obama takes a shot at ANYONE for their votes on ANYTHING, I wish someone would call him on it, and then tell him to shut the F**K up...The man is just as self-serving as Hillary, and sounds too much like a preforming preacher for my comfort.

#2: John Edwards is unfortunately a one-note nelly... I don't think I've ever heard him utter the word IRAQ (except to apologize for his vote in 2002/3)... His populist ideals are great, but not enough to make him an effective well-rounded POTUS...
AG is a great idea for him.

#3: Hillary is self-serving to the extreme, and Bill seems to be something of a loose cannon... A general election campaign with her would be a nightmare and would make this country look like a bunch of stupid losers (which we would be if she manages to get the nomination -- both BECAUSE we gave it to her AND as a RESULT of giving it to her).

#4: Kuchinch could be tailor made for Speaker of the House.

#5: Richardson has always been my choice for the perfect VP.

#6: Dodd would be my second choice for POTUS, and first choice for SENATE MAJORITY LEADER.

#7: JOE BIDEN is the PERFECT, MOST QUALIFIED candidate for POTUS that the Democratic Party has put forth since Hubert Humphrey...
We screwed THAT one up in '68... Let's not throw away our chance for a POTUS that can actually DO the things that he says... that can actually DELIVER on his promises, because he won't BS us with promises that he can't keep.

I have yet to have ANYONE on this site EVER ONCE come up with any concrete reasons or rationale why JOE BIDEN isn't the best candidate... I'm not talking about nebulous rhetoric... I'm talking about REAL SUBSTANTIVE arguments/comparisons.

JOE BIDEN IS A PROVEN MAN OF ACTION AND ACCOMPLISHMENT ON BEHALF OF THIS COUNTRY, and has been for 35+ years.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT... ANYBODY?...

John Edwrds conceded the nomination when he decided to accept matching funds. Win Iowa and Edwards can"t raise the money for Feb 5th, if Edwards was so confident, why didn"t he wait for the Iowa results to boost his campaign coffers, now he looses either way the election goes.

Hey John, you spent two years campaigning in Iowa to get your numbers to where they are, now you will have 3 weeks to campaign in states 10 times as large, California, Texas, etc. Do you plan on going door to door as you did in Iowa ,John Edwards? The reason why the Edwards strategy failed is this, all the big states moved their primaries up, Edwards had planned on Iowa boosting him and raising the required moneys later, his plans all fell through. In addition he did not calculate that Obama could raise the kind of money he raised, reason two why the John Edwards strategy failed. Now John Edwards could only be content with being the Ralph Nader of these Democratic primaries.

Just what we need, another multimillionaire putting himself out front in the fight for the poor and working class. Let look at John Edwards past records.

John Edwards spent a lifetime suing Insurance companies, he says this was to keep doctors and insurance companies in line. Result it further drove up the health care cost, doctors are not going to go out of business so they pass the increased cost onto us suckers. Wise up John Edwards, you weren"t suing insurance companies, you were suing us John Q public.

While many rich people are very charitable, Oprah for instance give about 50 million dollars yearly to charitable causes out of her own pocket, in addition she also has a charity that also give money. Did John Edwards give money to the people he cared so passionate about, the poor, the answer is no.

John Edward wasn"t giving money to the poor, he was too busy building 20,000 homes. Now he wants to represent the poor, what a man. The poor and working class wasn"t just invented John Edwards, they were here all along.

If you really want to serve the poor and the working class, start at the grass roots level and work you way up, we don"t need people who spent a lifetime walking on our heads to represent us. Sorry John, we"ll stick with the people that showed us who they are by representing us when there was no glory to be gained, not candidates using us for their own expedience
