... is not working. We've tried to call both numbers several times and keep getting busy a fast-busy beeping sound.

How Dissapointing. I told my little ones that they'd have the chance to 'talk' to Santa tonight. But as the numbers have proved no good, I've since told them he's just really, really busy. Then they got worried he'd be too busy to come to our house tonight ... and I had to reassure them that wouldn't happen.

Why did NORAD advertise this when it's clearly not in working order?

Santa says "gather up all your leaden toys" and he will take them back to China, and get you good ones.

NORAD couldn't track 1 of 4 hijacked planes, but they can track an imaginary geezer and 8 "tiny" reindeer? Brilliant country we live in.

Hey NORAD!

There's no such thing as Santa ya tards.

I can't believe my Tax Dollars are going to this crap.

I'd rather watch Mike Huckabee's Christmas Ad.

;p

The AP confirms NORAD downed Santa at 4:33 PM EST. The event occured when the jolly old fellow ventured too close to Iraqi air space. It's not clear if Santa's sortie was to deliver toys to the few remaining Christian children in Iraq, though there are reports his aircraft was dispersing unmarked packages.

"This is SOP," said Major Johnson, with the 131st Air Command stationed outside Baghdad, "Any craft approaching our space that hasn't been cleared and lacks uniform transponders is viewed as a threat. We tried hailing it on all frequencies, but got no response."

Sources report Santa's sleigh was downed with a barrage of hell-fire missiles. The only reported survivors were reindeer Comet and Vixen. They are in allied custody, to face interrogation.

It's just sad. This is something to amuse and interest children while maybe getting them to learn a little something about the world (the bit about Using Google to learn more about the places).
It's sad that a link to something actually fun and interesting is turned into a political football. There is plenty of time to give the government the trashing it deserves, give it a rest today.
Give yourselves the day off from the necessity of making snide comments, worrying about what the Neo-cons are up to, and responding to trolls.
I remember when I was a kid and I believed in Santa. I would have loved seeing the NORAD website. I'm an adult now, and an atheist to boot, but I still see this as something kids would love. I won't trash it or be upset my tax dollars are in use to put it up.
Before I leave for work I have one more thing to say. If you have so much energy to spit disdain, why not use that energy to bake cookies for firefighters or carol at a nursing home or anything else you can think of to make the day brighter for someone else? Or maybe you can just do as I intend to...reflect on how Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Men possibly begins with each of us.

norad is so sophisticated it can track a fictional children's character but not sophisticated enough to track 4 hijacked commercial airliners.

Sorry kids, Santa was shot down by Blackwater guarding the border. He put up a good fight, laying down some chaff and countermeasures while Blackwater fired Hellfires and 20mm rounds. It was one helluva a dogfight! Ooorah! Jack Out.

Santa's got a beard and has been known to wear robes.

Preemptive Attack.... Shoot the MFer down, before this terrorist Santa drops a Nuke in your chimney.
