CBS News:

Mike Huckabee served up not one but two foreign policy gaffes, expressing to an Orlando crowd "apologies for what has happened in Pakistan" (the campaign later said he meant "sympathies"), and talking about martial law "continuing," when Musharraf lifted the state of emergency Dec. 15.

The governor and his campaign later went to Mitt-like lengths to explain why he wasn't really wrong (restrictions on press and judges, etc.).

What do you expect from the man who thought that Afghanistan was on their eastern frontier!

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/29/us/politics/29check.html
-----------
In a separate interview on Friday on MSNBC, Mr. Huckabee, a Republican, said that the Pakistani government “does not have enough control of those eastern borders near Afghanistan to be able go after the terrorists.” Those borders are on the western side of Pakistan, not the eastern side.
------------

This is a serious question- why do Republican voters vote for people who don't know what they are talking about? Is ignorance so highly valued, above all other criteria?

For further evidence, see the current president.

expressing to an Orlando crowd "apologies for what has happened in Pakistan"...Huck

What is wrong with that. Huck is apologizing for the CIA. I don't call that a gaff, that is polite
and honest.

HUCKABEE is an ignoramus! IF he becomes president, and GOD HELP US ALL if he does, will he need to clarify everything that comes out of his mouth?

Why is it that when politicians screw up saying something and it comes off less than insightful, particularly Repugnicants, they have to clarify? What happened to intelligent leaders that (1) know what they are talking about and (2) stand behind what they say?

Huckabee is a second-rate pol who screwed up Arkansas, now he wants to screw up the United States and diminish what little is left of our international reputation.

Merely a Freudian slip!

It's like saying one thing, but meaning your mother!

Or, it could be the onset of something more serious, like believing you're the guy with the spear of destiny!

It's best that Rev. Huckleberry is doing this now, rather than later. We don't need another president preaching to the electorate. Of course, when Bush was running he couldn't even name Musharref...

At the very least it seems this man should come up to speed! If I the average Joe Blow (pun intended, haha) can come up to speed why can't he?

So far only Richardson has called for Musharraf's removal, where is the good pastor on that one? Our current administration has let Pakistan hide terrorists, Osama (anyone remember him?) and has let the Taliban regroup. Bush has failed and now this man because he can quote scripture but can keep up with the likes of me wishes to see if he can screw up as President equally as Bush...hmmm...I don't think so!

Richardson stated, "It is in the interests of the US that there be a democratic Pakistan that relentlessly hunts down terrorists. Musharraf has failed, and his attempts to cling to power are destabilizing his country. He must go."

While there are no specified requirements for the job, a BA from Ouachita Baptist University doesn't appear to have quite done the job for Reverend Huckabee.
