John Edwards said Sunday that he would like Bill Clinton to play a role in his administration, and called it a "complete fantasy" that the former president would not play a part in his wife's administration if she were to win.

Edwards is battling Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Who gives a crap what Iowa think? Edwards may win there because he has camped out there for years. The rest of the country thinks he is a leftest nut. But so it is.

Judging by past behaviors and the National Experience, I don't think Slick Willy 'goes' that way, but I could be wrong.

The question is: Does Bill Clinton WANT a place in John Edwards' White House? I doubt it. And, that's fine.

It's a strategy, but will it backfire? By saying he'll find a place for Bill will he garner support of Democrats who love Bill, but aren't so fired up about Hillary? Or will he alienate Democrats who don't want either Clinton back in the White House?

It's not going to cause me to pull my support, but I think it was a bad move. If I wanted Bill to have a seat back at the table I'd vote for Hillary.

Clinton's foreign policy record is mixed. He didn't deliver a solution to end the Palestinian/Israel discord. He didn't stop North Korea's nuclear weapons program. He didn't grasp the growing threat of Bin Laden and radical Islamists. Even the Balkans aren't really fixed as an independent Kosovo could start a war. And Bosnia-Herzogovina isn't a sea of calm.

I would have answered it in a much different way. Bill had his time in the sun; he's a great American, but he would better serve the American people in an unofficial role, like the great humanitarian, former President Carter.

If Bill, the master of politics, can't win 50% of the vote, how can Hillary win 50%?

Bill Clinton was elected twice with less than 50% of vote because of third parties. It makes me think unless there is a third candidate Hillary cannot possibly win.

Sure Mr.Edwards make ol'Bill feel at home by letting him "jerk off" in the Oval Office again whenever its free! Oh yes Sen.Edwards Bill Clinton can show you a thing or two about how to enjoyably use your time in the White House.

Edwards is sucking up again, no President wants to be second guessed by a former President. Bill Clinton would not be near anyone's White House.

Another thing, why would John Edwards want to share his interns with Bill Clinton.

I love this thread. There are pro-Edwards and anti-Edwards people. And then there is JohnKemp running around yapping like a chihuahua, trying to get some attention.

How about NOBODY has a place for Bill Clinton in the next White House, and he just rents an apartment across the street, or something?! The original Bill-O always seems like he is chomping at the bit to get back in that place. Why? Because he has so many good memories?

The Democratic Party seems to have some sort of personality cult built up around this guy, like the 90s were a kind of Golden Age. But Americans are longing to breathe fresh air of legitimate change. Our country needs to move forward, and far, away from our current situation. Going back to the decade that led inexorably to the 2000 election (and everything that has come afterward) is NOT the answer.

To this voter, Edwards is just too damn impressive to ignore, even though he is still not my first choice.

Edwards has exactly the right message and the right approach.

Corporatism is the root of many major problems in our country. Examples:

-Healthcare
-Unnecessary wars (for oil)
-Lack of good environmental policies
-Lack of a comprehensive energy policy

You get rid of excessive corporate influence on our government, you attack all the above problems at once.

This is the scientific approach to problem solving.

And Edwards is the only one among top tier candidates to have voiced this consistently. Of course, Kucinich always has.

Edwards is damn good.
