McCain Now #1 In National Polls

For the first time all year, Arizona Senator John McCain finds himself on top with support from 17% of Likely Republican Primary Voters. In the muddled GOP race, McCain becomes the third person to top the poll this month and the fourth since October. But his lead is statistically insignificant--Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are just a point behind at 16% and Rudy Giuliani is two points back at 15%. Slightly off the pace, but still within five points of McCain, is Fred Thompson at 12%. Ron Paul retains his base support at 7%.

One of the more amazing things about the Republican race this year is that it has grown closer and closer over time (see recent daily numbers). In a poll with a four-percentage point margin of error, the fact that five candidates are within five points means there is absolutely no national frontrunner. Adding to the uncertainty is the fact that 13% of Likely Primary Voters remain undecided.

Isnt it odd that noone has mentioned his cancer? That left side of his face is swollen one day, discolored the next. Am I nit-picking here? If this was Hillary Clinton, the press would be all over it. I would like to know if there is danger to his brain with metastisis and if this spot was entirely cleaned up with surgery. A million questions! I am one who DOES see a distinct difference in the personality of the man who ran before and the one who appears before us now........

It's a no-brainer where McBush's support is coming from, it's the match-up columns showing he fairs the best against any top 3 Democrats.
When push comes to shove, a loser evangelical or a loser Mormon or a loser drag queen....gets tossed. Only winning matters to repigs, and their Primaries are all weighted top down, so the Party Bosses tell the sheep who to support...and they do.

This is only an indication of how bad the other repub candidates are. McCain belongs in a retirement community with a big gate out front.

I'm trying to figure out where this support for McCain is coming from, particularly in libertarian-leaning NH. Like Huckabee, McCain has paltry fund raising numbers, and sure as hell doesn't share anything with NH voters.

Jeez, another rigging by the MSM. Huckabee isn't panning out like the government/media complex hoped, so now their going to dump him and go with McCain.

I'm surprised Huff&Puff doesn't have the story up about Faux Noise excluding Ron Paul from Chris Wallace's run-up to NH interview blitz with the Republican candidates.

The Republicans are so funny. A newspaper endorsement can sway them easily.

Lord help us! This old, intemperate, un-classy (remember the "bitch" reaction), war mongering, Bush-nuzzling, way-to-ambitious LOSER (he was a POW = he screwed up and GOT CAUGHT!).... is now No 1??! You want to elevate THIS to president?

Wake up, America! Can we please look past the superficialities for once? This man is not presidential material. Period. End of story.
He represents the status quo or worse, the past.
Do you want more of the status quo??????

McCain is too old to be president-just like Reagan was too old. But then the American public is too stupid to realize it.

Bob B.J. Allen (McBush's ex-spokesman)
Pledged he do whatever he had to to get Florida into McBush's CAMP, and help the candidate GET A HEAD. He's bringing in Florida's Black male votes one STALL at a time.
