Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton entered the Obama-Edwards fray over fighting special interests on Monday afternoon, arguing that her rivals should stop "jumping up and down" and instead devise a strategy to pass health insurance and energy reforms over the objections of drug, health, and oil companies.

There was a bit of a mixed message, however: Mrs. Clinton began her remarks by saying that Barack Obama and John Edwards were "talking a lot about each other," yet she was going to stay focused on Iowa voters and the American people and her "new beginning" agenda.

A few minutes later, she began tearing into her rivals, though not be name.

She said that Mr. Edwards' angry-sounding salvos against "special interests" were "great applause lines and speeches, and people get really excited, because we all know that the power has shifted way too much to the wealthy and well connected."

"But I submit, it's easy to talk about," she said.

everytime hillary opens her mouth, she says something pandering, or something untrue. Of them all only Joe Biden would make a good president.

Today I heard a new Clinton campaign talking-point sound-bite to try and parry the damage they KNOW, yet deny, exists from relationships with corporate lobbyists.
The pharse repeated was, "We don't want to alienate those corporations, we're going to need their help."

WHEN has a corporation EVER had the interest of the average citizen above that of it's SHAREHOLDERS?
NEVER! That's when! CEO's are fired for even having such thoughts.
When profit and salary margins are the highest in remembered history, and there's NO longer ANY concern for that average citizens interests, HEALTH or future, ...
then WHY would ANY 'average citizen' voter support someone MOST likely to give those corporations("who's help WE need" - haha) EVEN MORE legal and tax breaks???

Does ANYONE believe the defense and oil corporations want the Iraq occupation to end? SERIOUSLY???? Maybe SOMEONE still thinks they'd like to end dependence on petroleum? How about buying that pharmaceutical companies want you to get a FAIR deal on prescriptions?

Uh huh...

Voting 'pro-lobby' DOESN'T make ANY sense.
Not for OUR troops...
Not for Iraq...
Not for OUR country...
NOT for OUR children...
NOT for their children...

It WILL perpetuate this 'insanity'.

Part 1
Back to the future? No thanks! I remember when Hillary"s serial adulterer husband was running for president in 92. I also remember all the scandals about his infidelities and her/his association with the Bush family/Mena - Iran Contra, CIA drug money laundering. The Clintons then promised to be agents of change like she"s claiming she is now. So what did Hillary"s serial adulterer accomplish? He shoved NAFTA down our throats against the will of the majority of the people. The "man of the people" lied, begged, borrowed and bribed to get it passed by a Democratic majority Congress. Hillary was busy attacking the doctors in our health care system and saying no way to a single payer health insurance system that would leave out the parasitical health insurance companies. Those same companies are now giving her record numbers of campaign contributions. Déjà vu.

After passing NAFTA, her serial adulterer husband then bailed out the Mexican and New York banks to the tune of over $50 billion of taxpayers money. Yes, they started bailing out the rich early in their 1st term in the White House. Remember how he felt "our" (the working class) pain, even though his actions contributed to it? In 96 Bill & Hillary gave us the Telecommunications Act, which allowed media consolidation. That"s why we now have to take our truth to the internet. Bill & Hillary then cut the capital gains tax rate to 15% so the people that feed off of the working class pay a lower tax rate than the working class that creates the wealth. Bill"s so called balanced budget was achieved by smoke and mirrors -- he "borrowed" our social security funds to cover the actual deficits they were truly running. Bush followed suit and now they"re claiming social security is in a crisis. Thanks Bill! Now Hillary wants to finish it off by handing our social security accounts to Wall Street, just like Bush tried to do.

When the current offering does not work.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other potential independent presidential candidates are joining prominent Republican and Democratic centrists at a meeting that will consider the merits of a third-party bid for the White House.

The Jan. 7 event was organized by former Democratic senators David Boren and Sam Nunn, and about a dozen prominent figures are expected to participate, including Bloomberg, former Republican senator John Danforth of Missouri and Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., each of whom has been mentioned as a possible independent candidate.

Boren said the meeting will serve as a form of "shock therapy" to the major-party candidates to stop bickering and provide Americans with a blueprint for bipartisanship in Washington. The event will be at the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma, where he is president.

"We used to work together across party lines and we used to cooperate with each other," Boren said of his relationships with current and former senators who plan to attend. "It is a message to the two parties: Please rise to the occasion. If you don't, there is always a possibility out there of an independent."

The meeting comes one day before the New Hampshire primary.

"We need statesmanship, not politics," Boren said. "The meeting in itself implies there could be other possibilities" than a two-party contest.

Plans for the meeting were first reported by The Washington Post.

She's" taken on the drug companies, the isurance companies and the oil companies."
What I'd like to know is why hasn't she taken on the Republicans?

"Jumping up and down." I guess Hillary's trying to portray her opponents as children.

So Edwards and Obama are children.

Obama is "too nice" and "emasculated."

Edwards is a "trial lawyer." (Boo!)

Chelsea shuts out a 9-year-old.

The primary race has been hilarious today. Not much light—or heat. But we can all use the laughs.

Watch out Clinton-Obama fans.

Let's start the year by choosing politicians who play by the rules. My favorite is Senator Biden.

NYT quotes Hillary as saying: "I"ve taken on the drug companies, I"ve taken on the health insurance companies, I"ve taken on the oil companies, and I intend to keep doing it. You don"t have to do it by telling and screaming " save your energy, get the job done."

What? When Hillary? You were very inept in the 1990s when you "took on" the health care companies. You crashed and burned and the health care companies have gone on to record profits and declining coverage since 2000 and your service in the Senate. What legislation have you authored, sheperded through committees, championed to a full Congressional vote and passed into law? I think its fair to say, Hillary, the only thing you "took" was big campaign contributions from healthcare and drug companies. And in exchange you get to make noise and "jump up and down" about reform, as long as you don't CHANGE anything.

Hillary the Hypocrite.

We can hope HRC will be different then the face she presents to win, but it rarely turns out that way.

Obama is a Lieberman "Democrat"!

Obama's eager choice for a "mentor" in the senate was Joe Lieberman, How can I possibly trust Obama, knowing that?

Kucinich is the only candidate consistently working for the 98% of the American people. He has proven as mayor that he is not for sale.

Kucinich is so feared by the MSM that his impeachment of Cheney got zero headlines. Russert was tasked with "Moon beaming" Kucinich, and finally Kucinich was just excluded from the debates, since he was getting huge applause for impeaching Cheney.

Google Kucinich Wins

Kucinich!

Studs Terkel writes a great article about Kucinich:

Who are the top three candidates?

We don't really know.

Kucinich trounced everyone in the two largest polls for far: the DFA and the independents polls.

If we're fighting special interests, shouldn't we choose a candidate who never talks so them?

Senator Joe Biden, the second least-wealthy member of the Senate and now running a great campaign on peanuts, says that the reason he has so little money in the budget is that "no single special interest can count on Senator Biden!"

Check the FEC data summaries at www.opensecrets.org to see what you think.

Biden's campaign is stretching to raise $800,000 before the end of the year. How does that look when you compared it to the millions that have been spent by the two junior Senators?
