Pakistan Ministry Backpedals On Bhutto Cause Of Death Claims

Pakistan's Interior Ministry backtracked Tuesday on its statement that Benazir Bhutto died because she hit her head on a sunroof latch during a shooting and bomb attack.

The government also published a reward offer in several national newspapers to anyone who could identify two suspects from the killing.

Pretty big deal not to have posted, Bhutto was going to deliver intel to Specter and Kennedy about possible election tampering.

I suspect Bhutto's husband feels pretty dumb used about now... and if he doesn't, he should... Just yesterday he was dismissing the need to exhume Bhuttos body because "he trusted the opinion of the government's physician"...

This is so sad. I hate the fact that they finally had the chance to kill her. I believe that someone in her entourage had something to do with it because there's no way that someone like these two would have infiltrated her inner circle without being detected. Because of her close ties with the U.S., I believe she would have been a very good ally and a more stable leader for the region. May she rest in peace.

Just a historical parallel: In 1934 Stalin secretly organized the murder of his main rival, Sergey Kirov. After the murder, Stalin declared a 3 day mourning and a big funeral. Then Stalin used the Kirov assassination as a justification for the mass murders/pr­osecutions of 1937 that were declared as a way to strengthen the Soviet democracy and security, and as an anti-terrorist measure.

Despots, like Musharraf, aren't used to being questioned. I'm certain this isn't the first questionable death that his government has had to cover up, but in the past they weren't murders of International Figures that gained World Attention.

It's hard to believe he would think this would just blow over and the World would simply accept his Governments explanation, but in the past it is unlikely anyone outside of Pakistan cared about who was being murdered.

When Bhutto said that "Musharraf must go,!" she signed her own death warrant. Bush allowed her to have no security although she had requested it. Like RFK, she was beginning to believe in real change before she was gunned down. Maybe the Warren Commission or the 9-11 Commission should investigate, but we all know the truth.

I just wonder if Hitler had nukes if Bush won't have backed him for "stability in Europe." That's what Prescott Bush did (and for the money he made trading with the enemy). Like grandfather like grandson?

So much for principles! The trigger man in the video was not a radical Muslin but a hit man. The bomb was "cover" for the "hit," which did the job.
