Sleepy Bush: President Won't Stay Up For Iowa Results

The Iowa caucuses apparently won't outrank shuteye for President Bush.

Asked if the president planned to stay up to find out who wins the opening contests of the 2008 election season, White House press secretary Dana Perino said Thursday: "What time do all the results start coming in? Because he goes to bed early."

I suppose the idea is that, as the putative 'leader' of his party, Mr. Bush should take something asymptotically approaching an interest in the election, if only to know who his transition team will have to deal with (yah, right)

His lack of interest may also have something to do with the fact that many of his fellow Republicans regard him as an albatross (Samuel Taylor Coleridge: "Rime of the Ancient Mariner) that they do NOT want hung about their necks!

I heard this 3 years ago that he is adament about going to bed around 9 o'clock and he gets real mean if he is forced to stay up.
That is a huge flaw for the 'president of the free world'!
