First post-Iowa poll, by Rasmussen, finds Obama jumping to a 10% lead over Hillary in New Hampshire, with Edwards trailing badly. McCain has stalled.

Now the American Research Group (ARG) poll, also post-Iowa, may confirm this, showing Obama with a shocking 12% bulge over Clinton at 38% to 26%, with Edwards picking up a fresh 5% and actually threatening Hillary with 20%. That's a 16% swing to Obama since the previous poll.

Most interesting detail deep in the ARG numbers: Hillary actually leads Obama 34% to 32% among confirmed Democrats, while he tops her 49% to 12% among independents, which may make up one-third of the tally. Debate tonight should be interesting....

Kucinich is the only candidate to be against the war, to vote against the damn war

and to vote against every bill to fund the damn war.

Don't believe the MSM polls!

Kucinich is sweeping the online polls.

You know: the informed voters. The blogosphere: US!

Check out the other videos while you are there.

Kucinich is the only candidate consistently working for the 98% of the American people. He has proven as mayor that he is not for sale.

Kucinich is so feared by the MSM that his impeachment of Cheney got zero headlines. Russert was tasked with "Moon beaming" Kucinich, and finally Kucinich was just excluded from the debates, since he was getting huge applause for impeaching Cheney.

arent you people getting ahead of yourselves? Obama won one small non-representative state. there is still a long way to go, and the Clinton machine has mucho money, they are very smart: and they have a big ground operation. If Obama did win though the perfect ticket would be Obama-Biden. they would counter each others weaknesses.

What is it with the can a black man win? Look at these polls and then come back and say Hillary is best suited to win.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/national.html

People seem to forget that almost 50% of eligible voters stay home, many of them minorities and young people. Just a 5-7% higher turn out can change the landscape. You Hillary supporters are so fixated on the past you can't even see the demographic changes all around you. Wake up, this nation is not so lilly white or as racist as you think. I would also like to think that any one ignorant enough to vote against a person because they are black is going to vote republican anyways.

Time for Obama to start thinking of a running mate.

1st choice: Russ Feingold
2nd choice: Jim Webb.

The polls in New Hampshire show the same thing that the caucuses in Iowa showed, Obama is the candidate that can bring in the independent voters that are needed to win the Presidential election. It is now clear that Hillary and Edwards cannot do this. This makes Obama the most electable candidate.

Hillary is the least electable. A majority of mainstream Democrats like her, but there are not enough of them to lead to a victory. Among other voters Hillary is a very difficult sell. She is a polarizing person who puts the rest of the voters off. Not only do people on the right hate her, but people on the left hate her too. Whether we like it or not, likability is an important factor in determining who is elected, and Hillary is not very likable.

The unknowables seem endless. Can a black nominee win Florida?

This is a bigger question than a lot of people know. I was born and raised rat cheer in North Florida and I don't think a Black man can win. I know Hillary can. Bill did against Dole. If Florida goes Dem the Repubs can't win the White House. We have a lot of Yankees down here now, but we have a lot of Confederates too. They may hate Hillary, but Obama is BLACK!

Does anyone know if the New Hampshire debates will be shown online?? I couldn't find a link on ABC's website!

(Considering they are promoting this as the ABC-Facebook-get-young-people-involved debate, it would be ironic if they didn't broadcast it online, as well).

I still can't figure out why Obama is bad and scary.
Is it....he increases turn out?
That was sneaky and under-handed of him.
RIGHT under our noses, too!

Those were Liberal Dems voting Kay. I don't think yer from the South and you probably don't understand the depth of racism. The fact that his middle name is Hussein and his last name rhymes with Osama scares me when I think what the Limbaugh hyena pack will do with it. I will vote for Obama without fail if he is the Dem candidate. But I am not optimistic about him winning.

It seems none of the Edwards or Hillary supporters have been able to turn the tide here on HuffPo.

Whining just doesn't seem to be catching on as a rationale for voting for them.

The Huffington Post does have it's own preferences when it comes to politics I agree. But you must admit it's right out front. The political process is all about choices.

I find that stories concerning Hillary basically reflect her and her nature. It's not like Arianna and her staff are making up lies or smearing her.

She is what she is just as the other candidates are what they are. Barack just happens to be a much more attractive and compelling candidate. His message of change and hope resonate well.

I've always said this site and others like it are very powerful mediums for the exchange of ideas. We've never had this kind of real-time up to the minute access to events occuring in our country before.

Why so hung up on the size of a headline? They call 'em banners because they are big and draped across the front of the site and concern the most important events of the day in politics.

Would you rather a huge photo of Hillary and a caption reading "Hillary Walloped in Iowa, Polls in New Hampshire Dismal?"

I can identify with Arianna's political leanings and I don't feel it needs to be pointed out ad infinitum if she uses an editorial style that reflects her own personality and politics. I've read thousands of posts that all say the same thing: Arianna likes Barack and she let's it show. As if she's trying to put something over on you.

What of it? My feeling is that ANYONE can start a blog and run it whatever way they like. Arianna's critics included. Just don't count on attracting as many bloggers as she does though.

I am really cautious and skeptical of these cults of personality that Obama and Clinton have turned the race into. The entire election seems to be about them.

I regret that we didn't go for someone quietly competent like Chris Dodd, for instance, who's not going to make the presidency all about him.

Neo, If you want to convince us that your daughter cares enough about your emotional wellbeing as to 'sneak' onto your computer and tell Huffington posters to "leave you alone," then you need to structure your approach a little better.

In plain words: we don't believe you.

In other words; GET ON BOARD AND DEBATE OR EFF OFF.

Its All fine until... the issue of Electability comes up. It has already begun to be talked about ... in hushed tones.

John Edwards is our only hope for a true win. If Edwards is gone when the media begins to press the issue of "electability" Hillary will in the end be the default choice...

and that IS and HAS been "The Plan" all along.

Some Democracy we have... Here, In America. J R
