Despite being insulting, Novak's comment is true. The perception that Barack is free from the taint of the dirty politics of the past, would be a very real block to republicans.

Novak's comments may be filthy, but they're right on target. Instead of continuing the war against Clinton, the threat of Barack's clean slate would force the GOP to defend their failed record.

I'm in good company in that I'm appalled by Novak's racism--but not at all surprised. Obama is a good man and obviously many people in IA and NH agree with me.

Unfortunately, I believe the Republicans hope Obama will be the nominee. Earlier in the campaign it was Hillary they were wishing for; now it's Obama.

I've studied the candidates' policy proposals, watched many interviews, debates, and C-Span's coverage of events. John Edwards has earned my respect and my vote because of his passion, energy, consistent message, focus, optimism, and his policy proposals--the most substantive by far.

However, the most compelling reason for my support is that Edwards has been thoroughly tested and vetted; it's far less likely that the Republicans will be able to come after him successfully. He's the biggest nightmare of the GOP and business-as-usual in DC. I believe he's the one who can go the distance and give us the positive change we so need at this time in our history.

"Clean-cut" is thought to be a compliment, not to be misconstrued. However, the use of the word "stereotype" leaves one a bit open. Does Novak's stereotypical black image look like Al Sharpton or Fifty Cent? Perhaps Bill Clinton didn't fit a "white stereotype" among blacks.

Race is not always, or should it be the issue when so much more is meant to take place.
Obama is a unique individual in many respects, and saying that he is atypical or not stereotypical doesn't seem to approach his message and worth.
