What Naomi Campbell wants, she generally gets. The supermodel has a reputation for being one of the fashion world's most demanding icons.

So it is perhaps not surprising that such grit and worldwide fame has landed the Streatham-born model, 37, with a prize job at the men's magazine GQ - involving interviewing world leaders, fellow celebrity A-listers and global sporting stars. Or, for that matter, that Campbell's first scoop is a one-on-one audience with the controversial Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez.

In the interview, doubtless about to be dubbed "beauty meets the beast" by US Republicans, Mr Chavez pulls no punches with his glamorous counterpart who manages to get him to answer a wide range of questions with all the rhetoric that has made the Venezuelan President both loved and reviled in equal measure. From describing the President George Bush as "completely crazy" to the Cuban President Fidel Castro as "the most stylish world leader", Mr Chavez has handed Campbell a scoop for a magazine where she now acts as a "contributing editor".

I'm as liberal as the next person but this is sick the way some of you give Chavez a pass on all that he's done to his people.

I hate to say this, but if he's such a wonderful leader then way don't you guys head south and leave the states?

I didn't think so...

And of course i'll get ripped for that one but jesus christ! It's no comparison between the two leaders.

Chavez is my hero. He refuses to be a slave. Too many times in history great latin American leaders have perished because they stood up against the Washington consensus. The same consensus that has murdered tens of thousands of Iraqis on their own soil.

Where do nutcase models go when they're in decline both professionally and emotionally? To Venezuela. Maybe Chavez will make Campbell mad while she's near a telephone. LOL

LOL!! Completely crazy. Chavez always makes me laugh.

His "devil" and "sulphur" comment at the UN, including the waving of the hand, was funnier. It caused the whole assembly to break into a laugh if I recall, and started a stampede of righteous indignation here in the US.

No one, but no one can say anything bad about Chavez as long as he caters to the poor in his country! I admire him for that. Here we know, everyone caters to the rich and then calls the rest communists and what is even worse, most people believe this stuff!

Chavez loses a referendum vote, accepts loss publicly, and moves on. The U.S. backs dictator after dictator, overthrows democratically elected officials, and advocates the murder of the dissidents in their dictator's countries. Let's see which of these scenarios is closer to freedom and democracy as well as morally and ethically correct.

Check it out.

Is that a "mood ring" on Naomi's hand?

Or an "Early Warning System" to alert the populace of "incoming" phones?

Hugo is 'obviously qualified' to make these statements--NOT.

Why is Naomi Campbell reporting on what Chavez told her about Fidel Castro instead of getting it from the horses mouth. A couple of weeks ago she was sent to Cuba to get the scoop of the year, a one-on-one with Castro himself. I'm guessing that drooling Alzheimer's patients with colostomies aren't the best interview subjects, especially when their handlers won't let you get anywhere near them.

Oh and Chavez should join Ringling Brothers since he's definitely a graduate of FSU's clown college.

Chavez is a left wing liberal who is honest with himself. You guys need to stop lying to yourselves and finally admit/embrace that Chavez is the only in the world working towards the left's utopian ideology.

That this bitch walks free is proof that the legal system excuses celebrities for almost anything. She did five days of community service for a felony assault on her maid, which has a minimum sentence of one year's imprisonment.

And that wasn't her first crime. She was previously convicted of assaulting another employee, and she's been sued by yet another for assault. She is also accused of having assaulted an Italian actress, but most of her crimes have been against people in her employ.

She's a violent bully who should be behind bars.

Chavez says Bush is crazy? I suppose even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Castro and Chavez are the most stylish strongmen out there. Earth tones predominate, sometimes brightened with a splash of red. Chavez' beret is tres chic, and Fidel's simple billed cap is functional and comfortable in the tropical glare of a Carribean beach. Both of them are definitely a fashion "Do"!

Remember thre days of right-wing military strongmen, with their chests plastered with garish medals? And all that piping and tacky gold brocade, and ugly peaked captain's hats! Ugh! SO '80s! Pinochet: definitely a fashion DON'T!

Castro is stylish if you like olive drab and Bush is one batshit, crazy mofo.
