Much-praised speaker Barack Obama was funny while stumping in Manchester, New Hampshire, this morning: "I've been campaigning a lot," he said. "And you know I say, 'The time for change has come.' The other day I said, 'The time for come has changed.' And I have to admit, everybody still clapped."

You know, the best humor on the campaign trail is self-deprecating.

You have to admit he comes off as very genuine and honest even as he sticks to his most recent stump speech format, which is "less beef more sugar" compared to his previous routines.

The high-octane version has been great for sustaining the "wave" over the 5-day gap between IA and NH, but it's getting stale. I expect that he'll weave more policy points into his stump speech as he moves through MI and NV and then rev it back up for SC to inspire the southern blacks.

His campaign has to modulate the intensity level to achieve the desired effect. I don't think that it will ever get as fiery as these past few days until late in the general election season. Once he has the first few primary victories under his belt, he can let his electability speak for itself. Leak some fundraising numbers, keep the Big Mo.

I can't even imagine how tiring all this campaigning must be on someone's body. I can hardly work a 8 hour day without wanting a nap... I don't know how all the "old" Republicans do it. Ha! Lots of Geritol I suppose.

The time for come has changed? So, the orgy has been rescheduled?
