On such a momentous day - filled with voting and hope and mavericks and Carvilles and fairy tales and Chris Matthews sexually harassing Hillary Clinton and more change than a laundromat - you wouldn't think it would be possible for George W. Bush to horn in on all the media coverage. But he found a way! Namely, by providing a succinct summation of what his presidency has meant to America.

In the seven years that I've been the President we've had a recession, corporate scandals, the 9-11 attack, major national disasters...uhhh...two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq--all that created was uncertainty. Each one of those instances. We've been able to come through it because we've been resilient.

Resilient? You don't know the half of it, Mr. President! Still, if you add the Hainan Island spy plane incident, I'd say he's captured his Presidency perfectly. But, hey, it wasn't all bad! A lot of brush got cleared!

On January 9th when the Puppet appeared with Olmert in Israel at a press conference in an effort by this visit to craft a legacy for himself, I could hardly believe my eyes at the actions of the Puppet.

There he was standing there with Olmert, who was giving the introductory comments, and while waiting to speak first blankly looked and blinked toward the camera and then looked and blinked about the room and then back again toward the camera repeating the image.

I was stunned at that facial image he projected. It reminded me of the blank face, blinking cluelessness of the late Stan Laurel (without the bowler hat) of the old Laurel and Hardy comedy duo in the movies.

Alternatively, I could to some degree now see why many bloggers and message board posters refer to him as The Chimp (which had not been so evident to me before this press conference appearance).

The video of this event will probably be repeated for a few days, and viewers can judge for themselves.

In other words, Bush's presidency has been one disaster after another, and most of those disasters were either of his own making (Iraq) or exasperated by his incompetence (New Orleans).

Now we are closing his presidency with another recession. At least Bush and his cronies will walk away from the White House richer for the experience, all at our expense.

Cheney and Bush will just laugh at us until we shown them that we're committed to America and its survival.

Congressman Robert Wexler:
"The charges against Vice President Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens."

Impeachment is the answer our Founding Fathers provided for Cheney and Bush. Only by holding them accountable will America be able to move forward.

Two recessions, Corporate Scandals (Including Halliburton, Blackwater, No-Bid Contracts in Iraq, Enron, Imported products from China that made it through a Consumer Protection Agency that YOU gutted, War Profiteering, Oil market manipulations by both the Government and the industry, Pharmaceutical Profiteering, and a Housing Market collapse due to deregulation and lack of oversight, AND that’s just what we KNOW of, so far), the 9/11 attack (and the utter lack of appropriate response TO THIS VERY DAY), major NATIONAL DISASTERS (THE THEFT OF THE 2000, and 2004 ELECTIONS and the resulting TOTAL MISADMINISTRATION OF THE NATION THAT HAS RESULTED FROM IT), uhhhh…two WARS in Afghanistan and Iraq (when did we declare war???) one that I’ve chosen to ignore (the one to catch the Mastermind behind 9/11), and one that I’ve spent over a TRILLION DOLLARS on (in order to get revenge for my DADDY, and to secure further OIL PROFITS and to funnel a huge amount of DEBT to my bud’s in the DEFENSE INDUSTRY), and MY COMPLETE and UTTER LACK OF ANY REAL PLAN or any INTELLECTUAL ABILITY TO REASON a way to properly address any of those things has CREATED UNCERTAINTY AND CHAOS amongst the AMERICAN PEOPLE, as well as DIVIDING THE NATION and Destroying the faith of the vast majority of citizens, that their Government GIVES A DAMN WHAT THEY THINK!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, Ignoring the biggest NATURAL DISASTER in our Nation’s History, which I ignored, another MAJOR Natural Disaster in the MidWest, which I ignored, My Administrations SHREDDING OF THE CONSTITUTION, My Administrations DISDAIN for the RULE OF LAW (why in the world should I have to pay attention to these things? Doesn’t the AG and DOJ work FOR ME?), MY PERSONAL, and MY ADMINISTRATIONS UTTER DISMISSAL of perhaps the BIGGEST THREAT TO THE ENTIRE PLANET for 7 YEARS (resulting in the entire WORLD likely having gone past the point of no return on Global Warming).

Yep! All in all, I’d say it’s been a very productive time for ME and MINE.

See ya’

G.W.

I asked Dubya if he would mind repeating the oath of the office of the President of the United States and here's his response.

I think he forgot the 'virtual' events: the virtual bankruptcy of the US, the virtual destruction of the US dollar, the virtual destruction of Iraq, the virtual destruction of the US as a leading country of the world in ANY significant sense, the creation of virtually lethal danger for Americans traveling in any of scores of countries and the creation of a virtually totally secret FED in control of the US monetary system.

Yes, Hurricane Katrina created uncertainty. Bush could have called in his FEMA director to discuss responses to possible scenarios, include the failing of the levi which was predicted. During the storm, he remained on his ranch and did not even watch the events on television for several days, until an aide showed him a tape of the human misery caused by the storm. His incuriousness abetted this disaster.

His administration created the disaster that is Iraq as well. He contrived intelligence and chose when to attack the country. Again, his decision making or lack of it was responsible for the uncertainty and failures and not larger, unseen powers.

Bush is famous for saying he benefits from low expectations. He seems now to set the bar so low that he is saying his presidency was successful because he hung in there. He did not abdicate. If he did, the country would have been better served. Bush's rigid ideology prevents preparation and then he argues he overcame his own stubbornness. What a champion!

After two terms of an increasingly-addled Reagan, I was sure the American people wouldn't let themselves be hoodwinked again. Oh, how wrong I was. What is it with the American electorate? Now look at the mess we're in. It will take generations to clean the mess up. I won't live to see it.

Bush is going on as planned with another four years "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" at the White House. He's not leaving the Oval Office. GW already has the printing press set up with headline "What part of martial law don't you people understand?"

Ben Tripp summed Bush up in February 2003: "He Will Be Remembered As An Asshole." Bush has been fulfilling that prophecy every day ever since, as faithful as Groundhog's Day.

The simple fact of the matter is this--he's a lunatic--and that doesn't say much for the people that elected him, does it? Wake up America. Most Europeans (and the rest of the world) consider him and his administration, war criminals. So much for legacy, eh? He deserves the title, and by all right should be held accountable if justice is to be served.
