Republican Sen. John McCain grabbed an early lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary Tuesday night as he sought to climb back into contention for the presidential nomination. Sen. Barack Obama dueled with Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic contest.

The economy and the war in Iraq were the top issues in both party primaries, according to interviews with voters leaving their polling places after casting ballots in the most wide-open presidential race in at least a half-century.

Here's what I think - and I've seen this before and not just in politics. People don't vote their hearts (unless you're from Iowa). They vote for who they think will win. To them I say, CUT IT OUT!! That's how we ended up with Kerry last time. If you really love one of the candidates more than the other then vote for them. Don't vote for the one you think could win. We're a mess in this country so what the hell do we have to loose by voting for the leader we truly in our heart of hearts want?

My biggest dilemma is; How fucked up are the polls????? What happened between 8 am when Obama was the walk-away winner and 8pm when the polls closed? I don't think I'll ever be able to trust a poll again.

The real question given the contrast between the poll numbers going into the vote and the result coming out of the vote is did Diebold fix the vote? I'm not a consipracy therorist but the question has to be raised with this outcome considering those two variables.

This should concern Clinton supporters as well considering these same machines will be used in the general election.

                    Hand        Diebold        Difference
Clinton         35.17%     40.71%         5.54%
Obama        39.20%      36.24%        -2.96%
Edwards      17.71%      16.97%        -0.74%
Richardson  5.64%        4.40%         -1.24%
Kucinich       1.89%        1.25%         -0.64%
Others          0.49%        0.44%        -0.05%

It seems rather strange that Clinton would get such a huge boost in Diebold voting districts and every other candidate would lose votes in those districts. It may just be coincidence but it's definitely worth raising the question. We don't want to end up with Gouliani because Diebold is fixing our votes.

I didn't crunch these number myself so take it for what its worth.

Anybody notice how the stock market is up big today? Down big when Barockstar does well, up big when Hill does well? See a pattern here?

Yesrterday on HuffPo everyone new Obama was going to win.
I believe it was being called An Obama tsunami...
Well, that bubble didnt take long to pop.

Clinton will win the primaries, I'm confident of that but she willnot win swing states in the general election.

First of all, she didn't actually cry. Second of all, she had the kitchen sink and every thing in it thrown at her the last 15 years and especially this last week. The fact she can overcome that- proves that she would be ready for the Republican smear campaign. Third of all, the results prove that most of the offensive posts here claiming to come from Democrats on this site- are coming from sneaky Republicans. Arianna, shame on your attitude this past year. It is not too late to come to your senses. You can still support Obama without this slimy campaign against HRC that you are carrying on. HUffpost has become just as bad as Drudge with its misleading headlines and slanted stories. It is really embarrassing. The dirtiest campaigner thus far has been HuffPo.

Great comeback for Hillary. Now she will have to explain why she is against optimism and idealism. She can't keep winning states by crying, and telling people that the Clintons shit your dreams.

Let's see, Bush was selected by the SC in 2000, eked out a win as an incumbent wartime president in 2004, the 2006 election was a disaster and the Republican party is in a state of shambles. Yet, Karl Rove is supposedly some sort of genius.

I'm telling ya, you Bushbots have set the "success" bar so fucking low, I don't believe a snake could limbo under it.
