Obama Campaign Rakes In the Dough After Iowa

Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) presidential campaign is raising contributions at the rate of $1 million a day so far this year, campaign manager David Plouffe said in a message to supporters Wednesday.

"In the first eight days of 2008, we raised over $8 million and gained 35,000 new donors. Since midnight last night, we have raised another $500,000 online," Plouffe stated. "We continue to build a grassroots movement that makes us best-positioned to compete financially in the primaries and caucuses coming up."

That makes sense. I donated $100 to him after the results came out of NH. He is the right person not just for our party, but for this country. I'm supporting him all the way.

I really wish Edwards and Obama would acknowledge the obvious - that they essentially could cancel each other out.
If they could combine their funds and votes, this would be a very different race - possibly a blow-out.

It's time for them to acknowledge the facts and cut a deal. One of them is going to have to suck up the ego on the promise of a VP spot.
