Democrat Dennis Kucinich, who won less than 2 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, said Thursday he wants a recount to ensure that all ballots in his party's contest were counted. The Ohio congressman cited "serious and credible reports, allegations and rumors" about the integrity of Tuesday results.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan said Kucinich is entitled to a statewide recount. But, under New Hampshire law, Kucinich will have to pay for it. Scanlan said he had "every confidence" the results are accurate.

I received an email from The PEN (People's Email Network) today...Please join in protecting our rights:

"How Dare NBC Presume To Determine Which Candidates Are Worth Hearing
From?

We are sick and tired up to here of having the corporate media with
their fist on the scales during our election process. It is a self
fulfilling fix to feature certain candidates over others in their
coverage, and then crowd out those cheated of effective visibility in
the first place.

All candidates who meet the criteria must be allowed to participate
and be given fair and equal time. If candidates want to drop out,
that is their personal decision, as quite a number already have. But
it is outrageous, undemocratic and unpatriotic for NBC to play judge,
jury and executioner at this still early juncture. We have ready seen
multiple huge shifts in expected candidate rankings in just the first
caucus and first actual primary election. They can project a winner
in a particular race AFTER all the votes have been cast, not before.

If the voice who you believe best represents you on the issues is
being excluded from the debates, we need to tell NBC to back off, and
stop meddling with our democracy. You can call their programming department on the
phone at 212-664-4444.

I add: You may not believe Dennis Kucinich can win the Democratic nomination, but we at least have the RIGHT to hear what ALL the candidates running for President have to say.

This got me wondering what the recount will look like against the original count. Very interesting indeed.

Since when to candidates have to pay for vote recounts?

That's ridiculous - it should ALWAYS be funded by our State and Federal Gov't, to protect the integrity of the vote.

Less than 44 hours after NBC sent a congratulatory note and an invitation to Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich to participate in the Jan. 15 Democratic Presidential debate in Las Vegas, the network notified the campaign this morning it was changing it announced criteria, rescinding its invitation, and excluding Kucinich from the debate.

Leave it to the Democrats with the help of the media, to self- destruct.

I guess John McCain or Huckabee is the best we can hope for as surely we are beginning to get kooky.

Let's hope LHS associates haven't messed with the paper ballots.

Even if they covered their track, it's important for all concerned citizens to undersatnd potential voter counting fraud & try & stop corruption.

"the best thing that could happen for us is to have a recount"

I agree and I thank Dennis Kucinich for asking for it.

But I wonder how a recount can be done for electronic voting machines that provide no way to verify their result?

What guarantee is there that a recount would have more integrity than the original?

Is there actual evidence of tampering or mere incompetence?

RECOUNT! ABSOLUTELY! Pray that it's not too late, and that the paper ballots aren't tampered with or manipulated by this time as well.

Kucinich has more "balls" than all the other Democratic candidates put together. Moved to impeach Cheney, and now challenging the legitimacy of votes tallied by electronic means. Folks, there's NO BIGGER ISSUE THAN THIS! I'm convinced the Republicans stole the 2000 and 2004 elections through various means, not the least of which was manipulating the vote tally electronically. If your vote doesn't count, they'll be another Neocon in the WH regardless of what the people want. HC is just as desperate as the Republicans, and I wouldn't put it past her camp to try to rig the NH outcome. Remember it was do or die for her at that time.

Dennis, unfortunately, the media and PR people have done their damage to you. Even though you would most likely be the best president for the People of America, your not the best president for the US capitalist and corporation who rape America. And those are the people who call the shots nowadays. And thanks to millions of American voters, we have allowed them to do this time and time again.
