Hello-oh?!
Does it not occur to people that McLaughlin is being ironically reverent with the "Mr. Cent" bit? Oh ho ho, let's all laugh at the old geeky white guy. Don't worry. McLaughlin "gets" it. Jokes on you if you think he's really that clueless.
50 cent does not represent peeps like John McWhorter, he represents rise to success after living the thug life and surviving being shot nine times. McLaughlin is talking to McWhorter as one of his own.
I watch McLaughlin Group every week and poor
Mr. McL. is completely off his rocker, quickly followed by
Tony the prince Blankley. You know that things are
wacky when Pat Bucannan is the sanest guy in the room.
Contrast with Gwen Ifill on Washington Week
J.Mc: Eleanor Clift... WHAT... IIIISSS... thebestsongonMrCent'sdebutrelase... Get Rich .. OR DIE... Trrrryyinnng?
E.C.: Well, when I was...
J.Mc: WRONG!!! It was 21 Quesssstions... featuring one MISTER Nate DOOOOGGG of Dogg Pound GANGSTA fffame. Sing the hook Tony Blankley!
That wasn't so funny.
I do agree with John McWhorter, however, that a lot of these entertainers are giving the middle finger to their own fans. It's like, "look at me! I'm so great!"
crapheads
priceless.
I LOVE John McLaughlin...i mean his show has been literally my favorite TV show for a decade. That clip was just awesome...made my day. "Mr. Cent"!!
If you haven't seen it, you should watch the old SNL parody of the McLaughlin Group. Dana Carvey, Phil Hartmann, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, and Keavin Nealon at their best! Check it out:

I used to work for this guy, give him a break he is an old white guy...he is just getting used to sharing bathrooms with black people.
"Mr. Cent!" Oh, that's pricelss.
what??
It all bout the person givin the message...
so a black, hack rapper gonna give us the tune
bout the night he be clubbing with hoes and booze
its shorty's birthday or maybe its not
but it does not really matter cuz its all bout fidy
his cars, his clothes and a nasty, little threesome.
deep message there dude.
that's too funny, lol! now, if only no one took that trash and all the trash that is written by slip slop "artists" seriously, music would be getting somewhere besides in the crapper. that pathetic trash killed music so that no one knows what good music and lyrics are any more. Dang, music has become such sad drivel i don't even listen anymore, i've even come to hate the radio when i'm in the car it's so bad. i wish someone would finally put a stake in whatever is the heart of slip slop and finally kill it and put it out of our misery. then maybe music would become fun again and not the dead dreadful awful bore that it is now, damned depressing too!
The McLaughlin Group is the best political pundit round-table program on T.V., period.
