Congress Set For Showdown Over Destroyed CIA Tapes

ABC News:

In a closed door hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Congress plans to ask why the CIA destroyed tapes showing interrogations of suspected al-Qaeda operatives. Was it a cover-up?

National security author Ken Timmerman says, "All the members of the House Intelligence Committee are very upset about this, Republicans and Democrats."

Anyone who would even dare to suggest that those who have been properly labeled as Tools of Freedom by moral superiors such as the President or any of his staff could ever be punished for their actions deserve the same punishment that they would advocate. Who are those who hate Freedom more - the ones who would do anything to anyone at anytime in the name of Freedom or those who would stop them? The answer is clear - any one doing anything in the name of Freedom must only be thought of as a Hero to all and anyone who would stop them must be thought of as a terrorist or even worse.

The CIA can destroy whatever tapes they want in the name of Freedom. The CIA can kill anyone they want in the name of Freedom. The President as well as the CIA can do anything to anyone anytime they want without any consequence - as long as they do so in the name of Freedom.
