Nevada Debate

AP:

Democratic presidential rivals and their supporters vied for advantage in the courts, on a debate stage and at the ballot box on Tuesday in an unsettled race for the party's nomination to the White House.

The debate lineup included Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois as well as former Sen. John Edwards and -- by a judge's order -- Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

Blacks learning
Hillary Was AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Feel Deceived !

A March 12, 2007 article written by acclaimed Washington columnist Robert Novak sheds a very revealing light on the true sentiment of Hillary Clinton during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement.

In an attempt to attract black support Hillary Clinton regularly shares her 'civil rights experience' during every speech given to blacks audiences. Novak writes of one such speech at Selma's First Baptist Church on the 42nd anniversary of the "bloody Sunday" freedom march there, where Sen. Clinton declared: "As a young woman, I had the great privilege of hearing Dr. King speak in Chicago. The year was 1963. My youth minister from our church took a few of us down on a cold January night to hear [King]. . . . And he called on us, he challenged us that evening to stay awake during the great revolution that the civil rights pioneers were waging on behalf of a more perfect union." But Novak's article states that there's a big problem with her statement.

The fact is, in 1963, the same period of time she speeks of at all black church appearances, not only was Hillary Clinton a republican, but she was also a staunch supporter of republican Senator Barry Goldwater, well known as a segregationist and adamently against the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which is why he lost in his presidential bid to Lyndon B. Johnson. Novak writes "...how then could she be a 'Goldwater Girl' in the next year's presidential election?" He continues, "...she described herself in her memoirs as 'an active Young Republican' and 'a Goldwater girl, right down to my cowgirl outfit.' (Hillary worked on Goldwater's presidential campaign)

Novak adds, "As a politically attuned honor student, she must have known that Goldwater was one of only six Republican senators who joined Southern Democratic segregationists opposing the historic voting rights act of 1964 inspired by King. Hillary later headed Young Republicans in college.

I really don't have any comment on the story but I wanted to at least put up one post today saying I think Billary is a conniving bitch who will do or say anything (directly or indirectly) to get the nomination and who, if nominated, will cause the Dems to lose in November.

Thank you and good night.

She is the one like Bush. She says she voted for the war because she thought she voted for weapons inspectors goinbg in. Weapons inspectors were in there. Stupidity is no excuse. Enough with one stupid President....nobody needs another who admits stupidity now. America needs a President who cares for his/her country. Kucinich comes to mind.

Obama offers soaring rhetoric praising Martin Luther King.

Hillary retorts that MLK was nothing without Lyndon Johnson.

And history shows that neither would have succeeded without REPUBLICAN Everett Dirksen:

"Everett McKinley Dirksen (January 4, 1896 - September 7, 1969) was a Republican U.S. Congressman and Senator from Illinois. As Republican Senate leader he played a highly visible and key role in the politics of the 1960s, including helping to write and pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He later offered his support for the Open Housing Act of 1968, another landmark piece of Civil Rights legislation.

At the vote for cloture on the Democrat filibuster against the Civil Rights Act, Dirksen had this to say

"Victor Hugo wrote in his diary substantially this sentiment, 'Stronger than all the armies is an idea whose time has come.' The time has come for equality of opportunity in sharing of government, in education, and in employment. It must not be stayed or denied."

History is a b*i*t*c*h to pay, isn't it?

These two people are locked in the grips of 'nanny-nanny-boo-boo'; and then they expect us to believe that they can forge a bi-partisan domestic consensus and lead a diplomatic surge among world leaders. Just petty politicians spitting in one another's face....uh-gin. How depressing.

The anti-Hillary posters are so vile. Words like "hate", "scum", "liars", "disease","witch"and references to her make-up are downright pathetic. Obama and, to a lesser degree, Edwards supporters are truly getting desperate.

I have 3 problems with this article and last night's debates. First, Kucinich should have been included and MSNBC should be ashamed for interfering with the democratic process; secondly, Russert started the whole debate by baiting the candidates with issues that weren't issues but for entertainment and shock value; and lastly, even in the picture accompanying this coverage . . . where is John Edwards??!! He is my candidate and he WAS there, right? There is no picture of him and some of the most important things he said with regard to corporate influence on our country and pulling out of Iraq aren't even mentioned. We can rarely find any coverage of Edwards on this site at all and I'm disappointed in a web site I've always counted on to be fair and unbiased. After the debates were over the cameras zoomed in on only Obama and Clinton like they were royalty for the duration of the session. It's quite obvious that corporate controlled media is telling us who to vote for. This is why John Edwards vows not to have corporate lobbying as part of his presidency and that change sits just right with me.

DLC.org Dems favorite book:

How to get your base to stay home on election night!

Remember, Rahm Emmanuel ran the dems campaign in 2006, and he says HE won it, not you voters.

The Democratic party has been infiltrated by the DLC.ORG corporatists!

Vote out the DLC in the primaries!

With the African American vote going 66 to 16 for Obama, Clinton must shore up all the white Democrat vote. Senator Clinton will use as many racial tactics as she can get away with to accomplish her goal. The Clintons are not above using race to their advantage as they have in the past. So, expect the surrogates to get the race issue fires stoked. The approach will be one of constantly raising the "well we're only bringing up the race issue because everyone else is racist and won't vote for an African American so Obama is unelectable." Backdoor racism par excellent!

The only thing that bothers me about Obama's past is that he hasn't done anything for his own grandmother in Kenya.

That bothers me alot.

Ok,, I tried last night and now again this morning. There is NO heckler video, it's an ad for Hillary. When the ad ends there is the picture of all the candidates seated at the debate, but everytime I click on, I get the Hillary political ad. Is Huffington pushing Clinton or what?

I keep hearing the NV teachers union ads backing clinton on how she is a mother and so on. Her kid was raised by a nanny, she only looks out for herself, why was her husband out chasing women, they both sold out this country and she will continue to do the same in the White House. All I saw last night were a bunch of liars and this goes on every four years.

I have NO respect for any of the three dems who were on the *debate* last night.

They all should have denounced NBC for not allowing Kucinich to be there and got up and walked out.

They showed their lack of respect for a fellow candidate and their complete disregard for letting the voters hear from all the candidates running.

Needless to say, NONE will get my vote.
