Hillary Clinton Likens White House To Prison

LA Times:

Not that it's going to diminish her ambition to live there again, but Hillary Clinton says she views the White House as something of a prison.

She also thinks that when she gets there, she'll have to have some kind of national contest to decide what to call her husband because First Lady wouldn't be appropriate.

The headline distorts the content of the story. She was quoting Truman. I know, whadaya expect. It's bad enough when posters cannot be bothered to read the story. Headline writers cannot read either?

Anyone who cannot appreciate what the presidency of this nation takes out of its holder need only compare the photos of newly elected to after they have served their term. It's as brutal as combat. The secret service is there because the world is full of folks who'd like to kill you and some willing to give it a try.

Next time you hear someone talk about how the country is going down the tubes, just take a look at the disregard the electorate shows. Any chance we will get a majority out to vote in November? That would be a pleasant change from the past.

I only voted for Clinton once, but his pecadillos­/indiscret­ions (in retrospect) were minor misdemeanors compared to the felonies carried on by this present administration.

I think we should close the door to both Clintons. It's unbelievable that we are even considering the possibility of returning that sordid pair to the White House. I voted for Bill Clinton, but he was a monumental disappointment as president. His personal behavior was atrocious, The London Times online has a huge article recalling the entire ugly business with Gennifer Flowers, Paula JOnes, Monica Lewinsky, Kathleen Wiley, etc. Then there were the Clinton and Rodham brothers, the pardons, the selling of the Lincoln bedroom, the FBI files and the firing of the travel office personel, the unseemly leave taking with White House possessions. It was endless trashy behavior. His official presidency was a mess of triangulation, deregulations, NAFTA. If you think the GOP won't replay every stinking moment of this, you're sorely mistaken. America would have to be out of its mind to start with the Clintons again.

The White house is a prison, yet she is willing to do anything to get there. rather telling, is it not? There are many names for bill floating out there now, but I think "consort" would fit.
