New York Times:

The People's Voice African-American Weekly News in tiny Roanoke, Ala., has not endorsed a candidate in the state's Democratic presidential primary on Feb. 5 -- much to the frustration of its publisher, Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson, a Barack Obama supporter.

"I'm trying to get ready to endorse him, but my board is so split," Ms. Clark-Frieson said.

Most of the regular posting white libs at HuffPo are now for Hillary. They went from Kucinich, Richardson thru Edwards and skipped over Obama right to Hillary.

Perhaps Southern Black political leaders are split between Obama and Clinton. However, Southern Black voters are NOT split between the two candidates--not by a long shot. Despite their respect for the Clintons, southern black voters are not going to vote against the very first viable black Presidential candidate. And given the history of the south (and I am and speaking as a white southerner) can you really blame them? This is particularly true in South Carolina, where the Confederate flag is still considered a state icon by many white residents. While the south has made great strides since the advent of the civil rights movement, the cultural divide between southern blacks and whites is still vast. This divide will be starkly reflected in the South Carolina primary. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just dead wrong.
P.S. (And yes, yes, there are many racial problems in the North--that's a comment for another time.)

JOHN EDWARDS

While the TWO CORPORATIST Candidates duke it out, and will forget ALL about SC once in office, JOHN EDWARDS is the ONLY one FIGHTING FOR the MIDDLE CLASS and those LESS FORTUNATE.

and as it's common knowledge than apart from certain areas in the northern part of SC, people are deeply hurting financially.

JOHN EDWARDS, with NO TIES to the POWERFUL INTEREST GROUPS, who are supporting OBAMA and HELLARY, HE's the ONLY LOGICAL CHOICE.

JOHN EDWARDS in '08.

Support the man, who is fighting for you.

Come on! Are we still trusting what polls say?

What does it matter when it comes to an American Election - Black, White, Yellow, Red, your vote's not counted or even read. This is your America where the only color that is counted is the color of money.
Be outraged read this-Why not mock the people that think the election is not rigged by cowards and traitors?
What do you think one vote to be counted in secret and passed hand to hand in open containers to be tallied by people without regard for the rights and values of others? Is this what you stand for or against speak out or get out!
Massive vote fraud call congress your news paper and radio and demand! demand!demand! that the whole process be started over from scratch! right after the massive arrests ,or get back to were you all belong -the USSR.

I am very surprised that there are still minorities that do not see that what the Clintonistas did was to play the race card because they know that an african-american running as african-american only cannont win USA. OBAMA is running as an AMERICAN candidate. I am depress to see that here we have the dream of MLK realized and there are little people who cannot embrace it! As a former president of an advocacy chicano local organization i feel ashame of my brothers and sisters for not embracing the dream. By the way, if the Clintons were sincere they would embrace it too. The Obama phenomenom does not happen every century just as JFK, RFK, FDR, and REAGAN do not happen every day. I hope this politicians that happen to be minorities swallow their pride of a rushed early endorsement for Mrs. Clinton and do like dozens of other smart Senators and congress people have done.
SI SE PUEDE! OBAMA 08

Maybe we put too much faith in pollsters.

Maybe we also tend to talk about "blacks" (politely "African-Americans," not-so-nicely anymore "negroes") as though they were somehow things, not real people.

Maybe we put candidates in front of them, not as intelligent humans, but "a black man" and "a white woman." Nothing more, and we expect "nothing more" (as far as reasons go) from the people who would vote for them.

Perhaps people DON'T make decisions based on the color of their skin, nor their gender. Perhaps pollsters are just quacks.

The point that is not addressed here is that African-Americans will turn out in historically large numbers to vote for Obama if Obama is the Democratic nominee.

On the other hand, the usual small minority of African-Americans will turn out to vote for Hillary if Hillary is the nominee.

The fact the AA vote is split during the primary season is inconsequential.

Huh. You mean like the rest of the country is split between Obama and Clinton? Wow - you mean black folks are just like white folks? Clutch the pearls!

It takes some serious racism to be surprised that black folks are significantly different from white folks.

I suppose people who can look past Baracko attending a black-racist church will vote for him.

And then Oprah will make another appearance and seal the deal.

Obama/Oprah?

O-O? Uh-oh.

This is hilarious! The media wants you to believe that there is a generational difference with Blacks over Obama vs. Clinton.

Get real!

I see nothing but the Black vote in South Carolina going for Obama in a major way!
